Country music fans are still buzzing about singers Ty Herndon and Billy Gilman’s back-to-back statements that they are gay. It’s not every week that a country singer comes out of the closet – let alone two! Ty Herndon decided to officially reveal his sexuality in an interview, and Gilman was inspired by his courage and decided to follow suit. Although Gilman admits that it was only a matter of time before the truth came out, because he was photographed at an event with his boyfriend and wanted his fans to hear it from him – not see the leaked photos on the internet.
According to the December 12th edition of GLOBE Magazine, Ty Herndon is thrilled that the truth is finally out about his sexuality – because now he can go public with his relationship and marry his gay lover. GLOBE reveals, “Now that country singer Ty Herndon has come out of the closet he’s finally ready to marry again – but this time he wants a man! The Living in the Moment singer has already tied the knot twice with women, who he says knew he was hiding a gay secret. And after revealing his sexuality in a TV interview Herndon is ready to make it official with his lover of six years, whom he only refers to as Matt.”
Although there has been some negative bashing on social media, over all the public’s response to Ty Herndon coming out of the closet has been pretty supportive.
