Tonight on FOX AMERICAN IDOL returns with another results show.  Because the judges used their one save last week one finalist out of the top eight will be sent home tonight.  Did you tune in to watch the performances last night? If not we did a detailed recap of it all for you right here.

Last night the top right contestants took the stage and had a chance to own the spotlight.  Season 13 is really heating up! C.J. Harris, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, Alex Preston, Dexter Roberts and Sam Woolf – took the stage in hopes of impressing the judges and winning America’s vote.  The theme for the evening was “Competitor’s Pick,” in which the finalists choose selections for the others to sing. On tonight’s live results show, One finalist’s journey will come to an end as America’s vote is revealed . With no judge saves it is more important than ever to vote for your favorite competitor.  By the end of the evening we will have our Top 6.

Tonight’s American Idol Elimination episode kicks off with a surprise appearance from The Following’s Kevin Bacon. Idol host Ryan Seacrest takes the stage and introduces the judges: Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr. Ryan jokes about how short Jennifer Lope’z skirt is, and Keith Urban promises to wear a suit next week (which would be an America Idol first).

Ryan shares a clip of the remaining seven contestants eating dinner last night after their performances. Jena Irene talks about how smitten she is with last night’s guest Demi Lovato and how excited she was that they let the contestants tweet during commercial breaks last night. Sam Woolf jokes about Jennifer’s “stank face” last night. Then the group takes a selfie together and posts it to Instagram to see how many likes they get.

The Top 7: Jena Irene, Dexter Roberts, CJ Harris, Alex Preston, Sam Woolf, Caleb Johnson, and Jessica Meuse, join Ryan Seacrest on the stage. They share the Ford commercial that they filmed together with viewers at home.

Now it is time to reveal some the results and find out who is going home tonight. According to America’s votes: Jena Irene, Alex Preston, Caleb Johnson, CJ Harris, and Sam Woolf are safe tonight. After the votes were tallied the Bottom Two contestants that are up for elimination are: Jessica Meuse and Dexter Roberts. (This is the first time Jessica Meuse has ever been in the Bottom Two.)

According to America’s votes last night – Dexter Roberts has been eliminated from American Idol. Well we are sorry to see Dexter go and we hope he achieves his dreams despite being eliminated from American Idol.

So the American Idol Final 6 are Jessica Meuse, Jena Irene, Alex Preston, Caleb Johnson, CJ Harris, and Sam Woolf. Tune in next week for out live recap on Wednesday will all the songs as well!

    This is about the worst season yet. Last year was close, this year is worse. They shouldn’t be allowed to use instruments until final 5. Then, they have to move around like they are alive. How can they put on a show if they can’t perform. Maylia showed her stuff, got voted off. Sam thinks he’s cute, girls think he’s another Beiber. I’d rather watch The Voice. Love the battle rounds, they perform for they’re positions. Idol thinks cute will prevail, don’t think so.

    CJ is a great country singer.Nothing wrong with his voice. He just need a touch of vocal training but he is not a bad singer. There are people that cannot sing yes but CJ can sing.
