Paige has come into the WWE and taken on all comers while simultaneously holding the WWE Divas Championship most of her stay. While Paige and AJ Lee are set to battle once again for the coveted title at Night of Champions, Paige is becoming more and more popular in WWE circles. Here are five things you should know about this Raven haired beauty with the ability to kick your butt:
Paige has been wrestling since she was 13 years old – If you have ever wondered why she looks so polished and comfortable in the ring, it is because she has been doing it since she was a very young 13 years old. That kind of experience makes her a veteran in many ways despite her only being in WWE for a short period of time.
Paige comes from a family of grapplers – Like many wrestlers, Paige has a long lineage of British wrestlers in her family. This shared lifestyle has made her quite savvy to the in-ring and out of ring pitfalls that strike many wrestlers down in their prime. It also makes her a wrestling purist…a baseline behind her persona and character.
Paige is known as “The Anti-Diva” – This gal is nothing like the models that often come through WWE and seems to be quite proud of that fact. Her character embraces the dark side of things and often wears black. Her dark hair coupled with the pasty white skin gives her a bit of an evil appearance that she takes full advantage of. Paige is a powerhouse between the ropes.
Paige has several finishing moves and they all are extremely painful – Though WWE is clearly and admittedly scripted, that doesn’t mean that their moves don’t hurt like hell. Paige uses three in particular that have to be horribly painful. One is the scorpion crosslock….she tangles her opponent’s legs, puts them in a double armed chicken wing and then lifts them up in the air. Or she could hit you with the Ram-Paige. That is where she cradles you with your head tucked under her arm, lifts you into the air and drops you on your head in a modified DDT. You get the idea.
Paige is the only woman to win the Divas Championship in her debut match – When Paige arrived on the scene the night after WrestleMania, she had every intention of making a splash. She not only became the youngest Divas champion in history…she also became the only one to do it the first time she got in a WWE Raw ring. She had already conquered the WWE developmental and then she conquered the big stage as well.
Paige is a WWE Diva that you best get used to. She is not going anywhere for a very long time.
