Amber Heard is making waves after a recent interview where the “Magic Mike XXL” actress complained that she was just too sexy to land significant film roles. So far. Johnny Depp’s wife has landed some pretty hefty roles but nothing of substance that would ever be considered for an Oscar or even close.
It’s a sure bet that Vanessa Paradis disagrees with Amber Heard about being too sexy to land the good roles. It’s more likely the French film star sees Amber as an air-headed man-stealer. Johnny Depp’s ex has what it takes to win awards and she is still sexier than Amber Heard ever will be.
Amber’s direct quote to Marie Claire was, “I wish I didn’t have to pick between being seen as sexually viable and something more substantial.” That’s when the award winning actresses take note, according to Amber Heard, that you can’t be both sexy and of substance. It’s either one or the other.
There are plenty of amazing sexy actresses who are taken very seriously in Hollywood and even win awards, it just takes talent to have both. Johnny Depp’s much more age appropriate ex, Vanessa Paradis is an example of an actress with more than her fair share of sex appeal and has won multiple awards for her music and her filmwork.
Amber has been offending actresses for years as she claimed to bring brains to the bimbo roles. Amber said in an interview with Ocean Drive in 2010, “I’ve worked really hard to bring something more to ‘pretty girl’ roles over the years.” That explains Heard’s oversexed roles in “Friday Night Lights,” “Alpha Dog” and “Hidden Palms” to name a few…
Certainly Amber Heard was thinking substance when she accepted roles even recently in intellectual masterpieces like “Machete Kills” and “Magic Mike XXL.” Even Amber has to eat though right? Wait, Amber is married to Johnny Depp now so she should be able to be a bit choosier about the roles she accepts now right?
When Vanessa Paradis was with Johnny Depp, she certainly proved herself in both film and music. Paradis is a superstar in France and certainly doesn’t need to hang on the coattails of her famous ex in order to stay relevant.
Amber, on the other hand, would never move beyond the vapid role of Seth Rogen’s girlfriend in “Pineapple Express” if it weren’t for the immense amount of power that Johnny Depp has in Hollywood. We’re pretty sure every time Amber Heard suggests that she is trying to add depth to the brainless roles, Vanessa Paradis rolls her eyes just a little bit harder.
