Angelina Jolie has been outed as a suicide risk by National Enquirer and this allegedly is information given up by her loving father, Jon Voight. Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight have always had a contentious relationship, but I don’t see how she’s ever going to forgive him after this. According to the latest cover issue of the National Enquirer, Jon Voight has spilled the beans about Angelina’s rumored suicide attempt. His interview, plus some medical reports, have allegedly revealed in detail what Angelina has kept hidden for so many years, although I’m not sure if it’s going to make any difference to her public perception.
So what do you guys think – Oscar smear campaign? It can’t be a coincidence that these allegations are coming out right before Oscar nominations, where Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken is expected to net several nominations including Best Picture and Best Director. Angelina’s gunning to be one of the only female contenders for Best Director, so clearly whoever released these medical records has it out for her.
However, knowing what we do about Angelina’s past, is a suicide shocker all that shocking? We know she was into hardcore drugs, we know that she had a terrible relationship with her father, we know she used to keep a vial of her husband’s blood around her neck.. I mean, all those things combined might be shocking if they came out now, but we already know all that about Angelina Jolie. Sure, a suicide attempt that she kept hidden will probably shock her family more than anything, but who’s to say that she hasn’t told Brad Pitt or her eldest children? I mean, she probably knows that her kids are going to come across all this stuff on the Internet eventually, no matter how much she tries to keep it hidden. I’m sure she’s already told them to take everything from tabloids with a grain of salt, but if there’s truth to this, I still don’t think it’ll make much of a difference.
The Enquirer also has a feature about O.J. Simpson getting ‘beaten to a pulp’ inside prison, which isn’t that shocking – it’s O.J. Simpson, and he probably did something to piss off the other inmates. In addition to that, 60 Minutes star Steve Kroft has reportedly been caught cheating on his wife, with sleazy hotel hookups and text messages supporting that claim. Ouch to his wife.
