Meara was married to fellow comedian Jerry Stiller, and was married for 61 years and had been working together for almost just as long. She is survived by her husband and her children, actor Ben stiller and daughter Amy Stiller, as well as her grandchildren.

Meara was famous for performing frequently with her husband Jerry Stiller on The Ed Sullivan Show in the 1960s. In addition, she had recurring roles on “All My Children,” and “The King of Queens.” Meara also costarred with her son Ben in the 2006 family comedy film “Night at the Museum.”

Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller’s first appearance on the The Ed Sullivan show turned them into stars. It would lead to them making 35 more appearances on the show in one decade. After this sparked her career, Anne went on to pave the way for many young comedy hopefuls.

The family released a statement to the Associated Press, who then broke the sad news, saying, “Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne.”
