Ariel Winter: Emancipated Modern Family Star Going to Law School?

Modern Family star Ariel Winter is making all types of announcements recently. The 17-year-old actress recently celebrated her full emancipation on Friday, May 15. She wrote on Twitter, “I am now officially emancipated! I’m really lucky I have an amazing support system and lovely people in my life who have given me the support and guidance to have been given this wonderful opportunity. Most importantly I want to thank Shanelle Gray and my father for their special support regarding this matter. I really couldn’t have done it with out them.”

Ariel Winter alleged back in 2012 that her mother, Chrisoula Workman, was physically and emotionally abusive towards her. Since then she has been living with her older sister Shanelle Gray, but now the star is excited to begin her life as an emancipated young adult.

So what does Winter have planned for her new life? She recently spoke with E! News at the TV Academy screaming of Modern Family’s season finale and gave a little insight into her future plans.

She may just be getting ready to graduate high school, but Ariel Winter knows what she wants.

“I toured around schools in California and I’m going to take a tour of East Coast schools. I would love to continue acting but it’s definitely important, I think, to go and do something else as well. You never know if something’s not going to work out and if one day acting is like, ‘No, we don’t like you anymore!’ You gotta have something else you can do. I’ve always been interested in law so I think it’ll definitely be something that I’ll love to do and also go to school for.”

So what do you think? Would you hire Ariel Winter as your future lawyer or attorney, or do you think the young actress’ career in Hollywood is just beginning, and she really has nothing to worry about? Let us know in the comments below.
