During his hearing, you know where he was asked about the shooting that had resulted in one dead man and he himself getting shot; Backstrom consequently had a cardiac event. Or at least that was his doctor initial prognosis once he arrived on the scene. However, Backstrom quickly recovered and then ignored his doctor when he heard about a new crime scene waiting for him.

And for some reason that particular case became extremely important for Backstrom. So although his ex, Amy, had her suspicions – she couldn’t exactly say for sure Backstrom was using a case to get out of his hearing. So Backstrom continued to work the murder of a murdered gay cross dresser. And to time him up even further – Backstrom even marked the murder as a hate crime.

Apparently, hate crimes takes precedence over everything else and even if Amy wanted to drag him away – she’d be forced to wait until the case was closed.

Yet, Jason/Jenna Rhodes wasn’t killed or hunted for that matter because he liked to wear dresses. Peter had figured out how the crime had occurred and it seems that Jason died in a robbery gone wrong. Sadly, at the time of his death, Jason was carrying around a very expensive silver plated Coca-Cola bottle and it had a hefty price tag.

And how did people know he was carrying it around? Jason the blogger the told them!

Jason wrote a blog, a very popular blog that is, and he left nothing to the imagination. Everyday, he would tell his followers about what he was doing. And his last entry was “Goodbye, bling”. Now that doesn’t really give a description of what kind of bling he was saying farewell to, but Jason had also been publicly accepting gifts from his “fans” over the internet. So whoever robbed him could have suspected he was about to hawk a piece he had previously accepted.

Although, when he later stated at Jason’s wake that his death wasn’t a hate crime – and that sucker was recorded – Backstrom ended up shooting himself again. This time by giving Amy some of her old power back !

Technically, Amy has the power to hold Backstrom in contempt. So while she may have given him a chance to get his act together – Backstrom knew he couldn’t keep hiding behind his case.

Though, that doesn’t mean he was going to let anything else take top priority with Jason’s murderer still out there!

So rather than simply look for possibly stalkers, the detectives looked into the silver bottle that Jason might have been killed for. And funnily enough their investigation lead right back to Valentine. Valentine it seems had been the one to give the bottle to Jason.

He did it as a favor to a client of his and in order to get the bottle off the black-market he ended up having to undercut someone else. And it was just too much of a coincidence that this someone else was also Jason’s ex. Jason ha left David, after the other man taught him everything he knew about being woman, for an actual woman. Hence Backstrom brought David in for questioning.

Backstrom did his usually “ I am you scenario”, but he was barking up the wrong tree with David and unfortunately got the other man arrested for assaulting him (which Backstrom deserved) for nothing.

David hadn’t been the one to kill Jason and in fact he was the one buying the silver bottle from Jason prior to his death. So David wasn’t angry enough to kill – who was? And the answer oddly turned out to be a total stranger.

After she had devoured his blog, Nadia had picked up on a homophobic stalker that had been bothering Jason for months. Apparently, Wayne fell onto the website one day and he started to write hateful slurs to Jason. But none of that was his motive when he trapped and hunted Jason through the woods. For it looks like someone had found Wayne and even paid him to kill Jason.

And the person who ordered the hit was none other than the woman’s, Jason was sleeping with, husband.

The wife thought her husband didn’t know yet he did and he was prepared to act on it!

So, when Backstrom closed this case, he wasgoing to go to Amy and tell the truth. Though something happened that stopped him. Moto, it seems, backed up Backstrom’s testimony during the hearing and according to the committee “they no longer needed answers”.

Once again, Backstrom got off!

THE END!
