Will Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert stir up drama at the Country Music Awards? Blake and Miranda’s messy divorce was finalized four months ago, and some major mud-slinging and cheating allegations. Although Miranda and Blake both insist they are in great places after their break-up, no one is entirely believing that the two country music superstars have buried the hatchet.
Blake Shelton recently stopped by the “Late Show With Seth Meyers” and spent the majority of his time discussing his divorce – because let’s be real, that’s all anyone seems to want to talk about when either Blake or Miranda sit down for an interview. Blake joked about how awkward the Country Music Awards are going to be after their divorce, it’s the first time the former couple won’t be walking the red carpet together since 2007.
Blake dished to Seth Meyers, “This year’s gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes. Because we are…it’s such a family. Everybody there is friends. There’s gotta be one about me and Miranda. [Host] Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn’t look down there and go ‘Ha ha!’ You have to address the elephant in the room.” Shelton added, “We’ve had the conversations like, ‘OK, dude. I’ll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.’ I know it’s coming.”
Everyone is like “family,” meaning that half of the singers there are Team Blake and the other half of the singers there are Team Miranda. Not to mention, the singers that Miranda has supposedly been dating will also be there – like Sam Hunt and the very married Dierks Bentley. This might just turn out being the most eventful Country Music Awards ever – once the drinks start flowing.
