There are persistent rumors that Bobbi Kristina Brown is dead and has passed away at the Georgia hospice where she was taken to live out her remaining days after being taken off life support. There is even an obviously fake video that purports to be of Bobbi’s open casket funeral but which doesn’t look correct at all. When a second hearse joined the first at the tent that has been erected at the rear entrance of Peachtree Christian Hospice, the talk was that Bobbi would pass soon.
And as more and more friends and relatives joined the group inside the hospice, it was assumed that everyone was there to say their final goodbyes. But, in fact, they may have been there to attend Bobbi Kristina Brown’s funeral which could have been held in the chapel or other common rooms of the hospice. But why the rush to have a service for Bobbi Kristina? Two reasons: murder and money.
In the state of Georgia, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Medical Examiner’s Office handles the autopsy for deaths that are considered: “apparently homicidal, suicidal, or occurring under suspicious or unknown circumstances.” With allegations flying that Nick Gordon abused Bobbi Kristina so severely that it led to her accidental drowning, the GBI will take a close look at Bobbi’s injuries, particularly the swelling in her brain that ultimately led to her coma and death.
The GBI will likely be looking for signs that an external force, such as hands or an instrument was struck against Bobbi’s head versus her head striking something as would happen if she accidentally tripped and fell. In addition to the autopsy, the ME’s office will likely gather all of her medical records from her original hospital admission up through her passing at the hospice facility to evaluate what injuries ultimately took her life. This autopsy will decide whether Nick Gordon will face criminal charges.
The second issue at hand is money. Bobbi Kristina’s estate is worth roughly $20 million that she inherited upon the tragically similar death of her mom Whitney Houston. Whitney’s will specified that the money would go solely to Bobbi, but because Whitney’s family, specifically Cissy and Pat Houston, were charged with guardianship of Bobbi (and her money) until she reached age 30. This guardianship may also be why the Houstons pushed for Bobbi Kristina to be taken off life support.
If Bobbi Kristina died before age 30, the money would all stay in the hands of the Houstons. And given Bobbi’s positive response to life support measures, she likely could have lived – and been given the chance to recover – for years to come. But with the Houstons controlling the checkbook and paying the medical bills, with Bobby Brown too broke to do anything about it, the decision was to withdraw life support and keep her only on pain meds while her body shut down.
It’s a sad state all around that this young woman ended so tragically and so similarly to how her mother passed, with drugs involved and a bad choice in a man who may be, at least partially, to blame for the injuries that led to her death. If the funeral was held at the hospice, as is being reported, the next step is the GBI autopsy and then Bobbi’s body being shipped to New Jersey to be interred near her mother. There may be a ceremony at graveside, or it may be done discreetly to avoid the circus that Bobbi’s death watch had become.
We’ll update you as soon as there is official confirmation of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death but, for now, it appears that she has lost her struggle and the only questions now are what the Georgia investigation will find and when she will be laid to rest with her mother.
