It looks like Kim Kardashian is going to have some competition when it comes to short term marriages. TMZ Sports has confirmed that WNBA superstar Brittney Griner has officially filed papers asking the courts to annul her 28 day marriage to her now pregnant wife Glory Johnson.
Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson were married on May 8 in a small ceremony that took place in Arizona, which was only a few weeks after they were both arrested for a domestic violence incident that took place at their home. The news was extremely shocking considering that Glory Johnson recently revealed that she was pregnant.
Johnson and Griner have been together for quite some time now and even appeared on the popular reality TV show, Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, back in January 2015. At the time, the two were planning their wedding and wanting the world to know about it.
As you probably already know, Johnson and Griner were arrested on April 22 and were taken into custody for domestic violence charges, which both women say was mutual combat stemming from a heated argument that just went too far.
Griner pled guilty to disorderly conduct and as punishment, was forced to complete a lengthy 26 week domestic violence program. Johnson, on the other hand, has not resolved her case yet and so her consequences are still pending.
TMZ most recently learned through court documents that Griner claims that she has no biological connection to the baby, and that she does not know any details regarding Johnson’s pregnancy.
In addition, Griner states her marriage to Johnson is based on “fraud and duress,” and she backs this claim up by saying that she was “pressured into marriage under duress by Johnson’s threatening statements.” She did not clarify what “threats,” she was referring to. We are assuming that the fraud she speaks of is the fact that she knows nothing of the pregnancy.
