“Days of Our Lives” spoilers tease that Clyde’s (James Read) time on DOOL is coming to a close. Many “Days” fans have been speculating that James Read would be the next cast member cut. Read has been noticeably absent from the recently released pictures that were taken on set. However, now we know it’s official and there’s a good chance Clyde will end up dead with a capital D.
Clyde isn’t the kind of man who just moves on to greener pastures. Despite the fact that he’s in way over his head, Clyde seems to think he has what it takes to go up against the big Salem baddies like Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) and Victor (John Aniston). It’s doubtful that Clyde would ever back down and scurry back to Poplar Bluff. Instead, one angry Salemite will likely do the rest of the town a huge favor. Many “Days of Our Lives” viewers have praised Read’s performance on the show, but most would agree the character has run his course. There’s always the possibility that Clyde could be sent to prison for one of his many crimes, but it would be a missed opportunity. With a character as smarmy and dispensable as Clyde, DOOL might as well send him out with a bang.
Clyde isn’t the only character on the chopping block. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers reveal that more exits are on the way. The latest issue of Soap Opera Digest teases that several departures are coming up that will prove quite shocking. Most of the latest cuts were pretty much expected. For an exit to be truly surprising, it’d probably have to be a beloved character, a seasoned vet or someone heavily involved in a front-burner storyline. Could we lose someone as valuable as Brady (Eric Martsolf) or a staple like Victor? Time will tell, but you should prepare yourself for some devastating blows down the road.
In addition to possible cuts, there have been rumors that Shawn Christian, who plays Daniel, is considering stepping away from the role once his contract is up. DOOL viewers are somewhat divided on Dr. Dan, so you can decide for yourself whether that’s good news or bad news. There have also been some rumblings that Will (Guy Wilson) and Paul (Christopher Sean) could be out or at least backburned soon. It sounds like some major updates are going on at “Days of Our Lives.” Stay tuned to the NBC soap to see what the future holds.
