Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez fans went into a frenzy last month when the two celebs appeared to have rekindled their friendship and posted a selfie on Instagram on September 10. It was the first time that Selena and Demi were spotted together and on good terms since early 2014. It’s no secret that Selena and Demi had a huge falling out, some believed it was because of Demi’s dislike of Justin Bieber – and others believed it was because Demi was trying to stay sober and Selena had a drinking problem. Regardless, the Internet rejoiced when the two young women finally buried the hatchet.
But, it looks like their BFF-ness was short lived. Demi Lovato sat down for an interview with Complex Magazine just a few weeks after she posted a selfie with Selena Gomez and informed the reporter that she and Gomez are NOT friends, and she is no longer on speaking terms … again.
So, what happened? How can you have a falling out in less than two weeks? Demi informed Complex, “You know, when you’re young and you get older, you change and people change. You have things in common, and then all of a sudden, you don’t. It’s just a part of life.”
It could be the fact that Selena Gomez is reportedly partying like a rockstar again, which is not good for Demi’s sobriety. But, general consensus on social media is that it has nothing to do with being sober and everything to do with Nick Jonas. Selena Gomez has turned in to quite the little man-eater this year, and Nick Jonas was one of her recent victims.
Demi Lovato is best-friends with Nick Jonas and very protective of him, in an interview earlier this month she wouldn’t discuss Nick’s relationship with Selena, but stated she just wanted Nick “to be happy.” If Selena chewed Nick up and spat him out, like the rest of her recent conquests, that would definitely explain her very recent falling out with Demi Lovato. If you want to see how messed up Selena made Nick just note that the poor dude actually hooked up Kate Hudson right after – now that’s messed up for real!
