Empire Season 2 spoilers are rolling in, and we are all counting down the days until the wildly popular drama returns to FOX this fall. Spoilers indicate that Empire’s Season 2 premiere date is set for Wednesday September 23, and when Cookie and the star-studded cast returns they will be joined by some new and familiar faces. According to the latest Empire casting news, Marisa Tomei has joined the cast of Season 2!
Empire spoilers from Deadline tease that Marisa Tomei has been cast as Mimi Whiteman, and will be stirring up some drama with our favorite music producers. Mimi Whiteman is a Forbes list billionaire and venture capitalist who “loves hip-hop music, social trends, high-end fashion and beautiful women.” Yes, we picked up on the not-so-subtle “beautiful women” too. Does that mean that Marisa Tomei’s character is a lesbian?
Word on the internet is that Mimi Whiteman and Taraji P. Henson’s character Cookie could have a “thing” during Season 2 of Empire this fall. It makes sense, Mimi likes “beautiful women” and Cookie definitely fits in that category. And Cookie did just get out of prison, so maybe she’ll reenact a few Orange Is The New Black scenes. We can already see Cookie seducing Marisa’s character and convincing her to invest a boat load of money in the company, or perhaps Cookie will ruin a huge business deal with Mimi by getting romantically involved with her. Who knows exactly how it will all go down, but we are all for it!
