Beverly and Sean pack to return to LA while she curses. He agrees as they climb into a cab and hop a flight back to California. When customs asks the reason for them entering the country, Beverly says curtly “Matt LeBlanc.” Morning shows up to the studio and says she’s there for Pucks but threw out her ID. The guard says he thought it was canceled and she says it’s risen like Jesus if Jesus was a shitty sitcom. Matt pulls up, looks at the studio and says motherf*&^er.

They sit down for a table read with the cast and Sean says they wrote the script on the plane on the way back and it’s not very good. Sean and Beverly are told they have their old office back and they even got Wendy for her. Wendy, as usual, is utterly clueless and irritating. Matt pulls up at a stop light beside a hot girl. The light turns green, she zips away. Sanford Shamiro calls to tell him that Larry killed himself last night. He hanged himself in his garage.

Matt is flirting with the other driver. Sanford says his nine year old daughter found him. Matt says he should go to the funeral since he’s been his money guy ever since he got money. The girl drives off and Matt says it’s very upsetting. The phone rings in Sean and Bev’s office and Wendy doesn’t answer it. After several rings, she asks if they want her to get it. She says it’s Eileen Jaffee. Wendy just says yeah and they ask to see it. Sean says apparently they did.

Eileen is on her treadmill as usual while they talk. She says she’s glad they’re back in town and then segues into a mention of the script. She says she wants to talk about the Opposite of Us and says three networks are clamoring for it. She says she doesn’t want them to look back and kick themselves. She says there’s a lot of money on the table. She begs them to just say “go” but Sean says “no.” Eileen screams in excitement thinking he said no.

Carol eats lunch with the head of the network and she asks if he’s tan. He says he’s yellow and it’s jaundice. She thanks him for meeting with him. She mentions Castor and he says they found a loaded gun and an Etch-a-Sketch in his drawer. She jokes that at least you can’t kill someone with the toy but he says you can. She says she regrets turning down the job and asks if he’ll reconsider her. She says they need someone strong with energy and experience.

Carol also reminds him they’ve never had a woman in the job and he mentions Helen Basch. She has to admit Helen is good and he says they need someone to turn this mess around. She says she’d be shocked if they could get her and he says he’s going to throw a shitload of money at her and says he’s excited. Carol tries to act excited too. Later, she hikes with Beverly and moans and says Helen will put her out on her ass. Bev says her ass does look firm.

Carol asks Beverly not to judge her and Bev says too late. Carol says she had a thing with her boss when she worked at daytime TV. Beverly reminds her that it’s not exactly out of character for her. Turns out that guy’s boss was Helen Basch. She says Helen made her husband dump her and fire her. Carol says Helen will not want her as her number two since she broke up her marriage. Carol says she’s already started looking for a new job just in case.

Beverly asks if she has any remorse for sleeping with a married man. They come to a stop and Carol asks what she thinks of the view – it’s all of LA. Beverly looks then says she hates this city and walks away. At the funeral, Matt tells Sanford that Larry seemed fine at their last meeting a couple of weeks ago. He also mentions that it’s a shitty turnout and asks where Tim Allen and Phylicia Rashad are since he was their accountant too.

Sanford asks Matt if he read the paper today – of course he didn’t – and Sanford says Larry was under investigation by the FBI for stealing money from his clients. Turns out Demi Lovato had him audited and that’s why he killed himself. Sanford asks how much money Matt had with him and he says all of it. Sanford tells him maybe some of it is left and promises to make some calls now to see what Matt has left. Matt is freaking out.

Sanford says Larry also wiped out his family too. Sanford says he dumped Larry years ago because he got a bad feeling. Matt is annoyed he didn’t give him a hands up. The rabbi starts the ceremony while Sanford makes a call to find out if Matt has any money left. His kids’ trust funds are gone, all of it. After the funeral, he drives while silently freaking out. He goes to cry to Sean and Beverly about being broke and they commiserate.

Matt says he’s not sure how he feels and says he’s never been raped. He looks at Bev and she says she hasn’t then looks at Sean then asks if it happened to him at boarding school. Matt says he doesn’t know what he’s going to do and Beverly says it’s just money. She says he has his health and children. He asks how this f-ing happened and says he doesn’t deserve this since he’s a good person. Bev pulls a face and then Matt says half his money is gone.

Sean says he made it sound it like it was all gone – turns out it’s just half $32 million. Matt says he has a little over $31 million left. Sean tells him that it does seem slightly less dire when you put it that way. Matt says – I lost $32 million. Sean says the good news is he still has 31. Matt rants about the $32 million f-ing dollars he lost. Beverly says it’s inconceivable. They try to feign sympathy. Bev says he’s suffered a terrible loss but will be all right.

She says he can have a very nice life with as little as $31 million. Matt says he doesn’t see how. Sean says even if he makes no more money, he could live on a million a year. Matt says he doesn’t seem how. They call for shooting to start and Bev says Matt seems significantly drunk. She says he vomited on her before and he says he doesn’t recall it and is ready to shoot. Carol asks her staff how they missed out on their new show being perceived as racist.

She gestures to a poster of a white and an Asian guy with the name of the show – Wight & Wong. She says research had the title for six months. They tell her that only 64% of people think it’s racist and another guy says at least they didn’t call it White and Wong. Andy rushes in with news – he’s out of breath from running from his office a couple of doors down. He breaks the news that they hired Helen Basch. Carol immediately freaks and they all check their devices.

Turns out, she starts next week and Carol is panicking. On set, Matt is pouring a bunch more booze in his cup and Beverly tells him that he reeks of professionalism. Sean tells the stage hands that Matt is a little tipsy and they should just skip rehearsal and shoot. Matt is knocking stuff over on set already. Morning stomps over and asks if they’re f-ing kidding shooting with him sauced like that. Beverly says he’ll be fine.

Morning asks if they’ve smelled his Big Gulp and Bev says there are extenuating circumstances. Morning says you don’t show up for work like this. She says if an actor showed up like that on Kelly Girl (they don’t remember her first hit show). She says she had to give up a pilot to come back for this shit and can’t believe he’s acting like this. She says she knows no one will ever likely see these, but it still sucks.

Morning tells Matt that Larry had her money for a while too but she left him because she had a bad feeling. Matt asks why he’s the only one that didn’t get a bad feeling. Apparently Merc also had money with him too because he’s complaining that he got taken by Larry too. He says he has three alimonies to pay and says this is worse than ball cancer. He is comforted to hear that Matt lost $32 million and smiles.

Beverly and Sean come to tell Matt that eating his feelings is not the way to go – he’s shoving cake into his mouth. Sean tells him he’s still very wealthy and Bev asks him to take smaller bites then hands him his boozy Big Gulp. He asks them what if they lost half their money and Sean says that’s different. Matt asks how much they have and asks if they have $10 million. Matt is surprised to hear they have less than $5 million. He keeps guessing and he gets to $2 million.

Sean says their shows were in England. He’s shocked to hear they have less than one million dollars and asks if they need money. He says he’s concerned for them but Sean says they’re fine. Matt says they’re not fine and they need security. He says they have no savings and asks if they still want the light son when they’re 70. He says they should be worried. Sean asks Bev if they should be worried and she reminds him he’s taking advice from a man who sloshes when he walks.

Sean tells Beverly they need to think about doing the other show and Matt follows them and tells them to cash in. He says they need to do it and Bev tells Sean not to listen to him. She reminds him they’ve never worried about money. She says no money is worth going through this again but Sean isn’t sure. They ask Matt to quit following them. He staggers into their office after them and asks how they’ll live if they never sell a show after this.

He does a bad British accent and mocks them. He says his grandpa was driving a laundry truck up to two days before his funeral. Beverly says she doesn’t want to make money here but Matt says this is where you make money. He mocks her for being upset that they changed her show and didn’t respect her talent. She slaps her hand over his mouth and he licks her. She calls him a monster and he says sometimes the monster is right.

Matt pushes the phone over to Sean and tells him to call his agent and sell the show. Sean tells Beverly he’s sorry but the monster is right and he calls Eileen who’s still on her treadmill. He tells her it’s go and she shrieks. Matt says he made up the part about his grandfather.
