Six teenagers head out on a party bus. One of the guys, Max, wakes up in the bus in the middle of nowhere, bloody and lying in broken glass. He can’t find his friends, yelling out to no response.

At the station, Lindy finds out that the driver has a criminal record.  The sergeant has compiled their social media posts from the night of the incident; their feeds all stopped updating at the same time.

Lindy uses her ridiculously implausible computer skills to learn everything about the kids’ lives. Max is brought in and interrogated, which Lindy says won’t work because he resents the police. The sergeant then asks her to do the job herself.

Lindy gives Max his cell phone back, and he texts Amy asking where she is. The text is shown being received by Amy’s phone, which is on her chest as she lies dead in a puddle of blood.

Amy was hit with a blunt instrument and that the cause of her death was drowning. The sergeant says they need to wait for the right time to tell Max, but Lindy wants to tell him now.

Max says he thinks she’s lying. Tommy confronts Max on the fact that he didn’t ingest any drugs or alcohol.
Max storms out, and Tommy tells her to follow him, saying Max either committed the murder or knows who did.
Lindy tells Tommy that Max had no idea about Amy’s death because she put spyware on his phone and knows Max has been texting her.

A psychic Amy paid to come on the bus is interrogated. After giving the readings she was paid to make and getting her money, she warns Amy to stay away from water. Tommy suspects her because of this, saying that’s quite a coincidence considering Amy died by drowning. He asks her who paid her to tell Amy that, and she says no one did. “Some stories I am paid to tell; some stories tell themselves,” she says.

A video chip shows Amy making out with the driver, when a scary figure runs by, screaming. The driver runs away, and the person, wearing a frightening mask, pops up for a split second.

Amy thinks the figure is the Stowaway, an Internet legend.

The story is that a bunch of teenagers went on an abandoned ship. They locked the loser of the group in the engine room. He was so far down in the boat, that none of his texts reached their intended recipients. When his corpse was finally found, his eyes had been eaten out. The legend is that, to get his revenge, he goes out looking for kids who go out to the docks at night.

Lindy does a search on the GoPro camera that is in the party bus, finding that the driver uploads explicit footage to a website to make money.

The police find the guy, and he tells them he left the kids at the boat when the Stowaway appeared. He says after he was attacked, he ran.

He says his camera automatically uploads video to a cloud account, and that he got a notification a video has been uploaded.

The video shows Amy and a friend panicking with intermittent screams in the background.

Lindy and the cops go out to the ship, and find the four other kids locked in a room. The kids are interrogated, saying they were chased by someone

One of the girls say Amy went on a “family vacation” for six weeks, but Lindy deduces that she was in treatment, as her sister was sent away for six weeks once. She goes into the patient records and finds out that Amy and Max met at the treatment center, and that they created the Stowaway legend together. Max is the person wearing the mask, and he moves the bus. Meanwhile, Amy takes the camera on the ship and records herself being chased. However, no one was chasing her, and Tommy finds that Amy simply fell and hit her head.

Upon hearing this, Max flips out, blaming himself for her death.

They chase him, and he locks himself in a room, saying he needs to finish what he started. He busts a pipe open, releasing gas that will suffocate him. Tommy tells Lindy she has to leave, and she says she’s only leaving because she has an idea. While Tommy stays there trying to talk Max down, Lindy plays a message on the intercom: a recording of Amy saying Max saved her life and she will always love him for it. Lindy tells Max it is his responsibility to show the world how Amy made the world a better place, and Tommy says if he kills himself Amy will be lost to the world forever. Max opens the door, and he and Tommy barely escape an explosion.

THE END!
