The wedding festivities of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) start today, Tuesday, September 1 and CDL is hearing that Sonny will be shot – check out this “General Hospital” spoilers about a shocking wedding event no one will see coming. We all know that Sonny’s syndicate has been under attack and he’s 100% certain that it’s Julian Jerome (William deVry) responsible.
But because Sonny is so focused on Julian, he has tunnel vision, and doesn’t see the real threat coming. There’s another mob family moving into Port Charles, maybe with Julian’s permission and knowledge, but Julian himself is not responsible. The guy really has gone legit. Looks like it could be the Riveras or maybe even the Asian mob – aka Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) family.
Sonny’s lack of vigilance will cost him dearly – and right in the middle of his highly-anticipated fifth wedding to Carly. Here’s what will happen. TJ Ashford (Tequan Richmond) has decided to take charge of the wedding cake – not sure why – and then he has a snafu that looks like it could ruin the wedding. First, TJ calls up Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos) for an assist, but that doesn’t work out.
Then TJ has to call and tell Sonny he needs some help. Sonny will leave the Corinthos Casa to help TJ deal with the crisis. This puts Sonny in a vulnerable position for an attack that he will not see coming. Sonny will be shot before he and Carly can make it down the aisle. Instead of a best man, Sonny needs a good surgeon. Sonny will be taken by ambulance to General Hospital.
But don’t worry – you should know by now that the Teflon Don of Port Charles won’t go down that easily. Sonny has been shot before and likely will be shot again before all is said and done. Sonny will be rushed to GH and Carly will hustle to be by his side. Rumor has it that Sonny and Carly may say their I do’s either right before or right after Sonny goes into life-saving surgery for his wounds.
Alternately, they may postpone their celebration and hold another wedding in time for November sweeps – to coincide with Jake’s big reveal. Also, Sonny may not be the only one caught in the line of fire in this shooting. There’s talk that Jordan Ashford’s (Vinessa Antoine) worst nightmare may come true and TJ could be injured (but won’t be killed). Morgan may also be hurt. Could this relate to rumors we are hearing of Sean Blackmore getting out of jail and returning to aid Sonny and avenge TJ, his putative son?
The shooting causes Jake Doe (Billy Miller) a lot of concern about Carly’s safety and he moves into protective mode. The shooting may even trigger some memories for Jake – heaven knows Jason Morgan was involved in enough shootings… Another item of interest is whether the shooter will be immediately revealed or if Sonny will go on thinking Julian is the culprit.
