Harris Wittels Found Dead - Signs of Drug Overdose - Parks and Recreation Executive Death

Parks and Recreation is about to come to an end, but it’s about to end on a very tragic note. One of the show’s producers, Harris Wittels, was found dead on Thursday from a possible drug overdose. Wittels was found in his home around 1 PM on Thursday, and he was reportedly lying on his couch when he was found by authorities. There was reportedly no sign of trauma or any other injuries to his body, and he was surrounded by drug paraphernalia. Considering that Harris Wittels was 30 years old, it’s unlikely that it was an underlying health condition that caused his sudden death, especially when all the signs point to a drug overdose. Plus, Wittels had openly spoken about his issues with drug addiction in the past, and he’d already been to rehab twice.

The last episode of Parks and Recreation is set to air next week, and what’s already set to be a bittersweet ending will undoubtedly be even more so. What makes the whole incident so surprising is that Harris Wittels performed a stand-up routine at the Meltdown on Wednesday, and he spoke about being clean and sober – but then overdosed one day later. Was he lying, or did something happen to trigger his relapse?

Cops are still investigating Wittels’ death, and they’re hoping to find out more after the autopsy is completed today. 30-year-old successful producers dying so suddenly isn’t very common, even in Hollywood. Of course, the drug paraphernalia and his past drug addictions all points to this being a simple case of a drug overdose, but sometimes, things like this can be misleading. While it’s unlikely that any foul play was involved, the cops are probably trying to rule out every other alternative before blaming his death on drugs.
