On tonight’s premiere of Season 14, Chef Ramsay has decided to change things up a bit. And so he’s beginning this season with a new test. You see, never has Chef Ramsay asked the nearly impossible, but this time he told 18 chefs that they have to prove to him how much they want to win, one more time, before actually allowing them into the hallowed halls known as Hell’s Kitchen.

Hence he asked them to jump off the building and surprisingly a few people even volunteered to go first.

Bu, luckily, the jump and the “volunteers” were all planned out as a scare tactic. And the chefs did not in fact have to jump prior to being allowed into the building. On the other hand, though, they did have to immediately begin cooking upon entering said building as part of their First official challenge of Hell’s Kitchen.

The Signature Dish Challenge is what separates the children from the adults and just like before – it helped the Blue and Red Team distinguish the good cooks from the people that only landed on the show as a fluke. And shockingly the women’s Red Team had more than just of the latter. To name a few, there was Chrissa who tried to use a cookie to bread her chicken and there was Monique who had the audacity to feed Ramsey pasta using sauce from a jar.

Then, when Ramsay told her how much that wasn’t a good idea, Monique began arguing with him. So right away the women are off on a bad foot. And as they were taking their punishment, the guys got to meet William Shatner on an adventurous day out.

Meanwhile back at the kitchen, the women were sort of taking shots at each other. It looks Monique’s overall attitude is going to be a problem. And there’s also Chrissa’s scatterbrain to contend with. She seems like a nice person but she completely lacks any self-confidence.

But by time the guys returned, the women had set up the dining room and issued all the invitations. Meaning there weren’t any signs of the earlier problems. And they almost appeared professional!

That is until the dinner service began. Just like earlier, Chrissa didn’t know what to do and her lack of common kitchen knowledge was starting to get to her team. At one point or another, they felt like they were constantly holding her hand or trying to prevent her from making a mistake.

And eventually Ramsay noticed that Chrissa wasn’t really doing anything. So he put her on cart duty with T. and hoped for the best.

Thankfully, though, the guys were shown to have their own weak link so it wasn’t entirely a one-sided competition. Apparently having Michael on scallops was proven to be a bad idea because he stalled all service in his team’s kitchen until ultimately the women were ahead. The Red team had been the ones to arrive at entrees first. However, that momentum the women had so carefully gained was lost all because of the people they had at the meat station.

The meat was coming out raw and after the third time, Ramsay had enough of them. So he threw them out of the kitchen. And he completed the VIP’s meals himself.

But back in the dorms, the Red team was arguing like never before. Monique and Christine had been in charge of the meat station and their continued failure had got everyone kicked out of the kitchens. Yet, those two weren’t the only aggravations.

Chrissa had annoyed her team in the kitchen as well and during the elimination process backstage – Chrissa didn’t even seem like she was paying attention. She was cleaning dishes and the rest of them were discussing who to send home. So when it came to nominating someone – Chrissa and Monique were put up for elimination.

And though Ramsay added Christine, even he didn’t see why Chrissa should still be there. So he asked for her jacket back. And Chrissa ended up as the first elimination of the season!

THE END!
