Tonight on NBC their new show Heroes Reborn returns with an all new Thursday October 22, season 1 episode 6 called, “Game Over” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) returns in the fight to save humanity. Also: Noah (Jack Coleman) seeks much-needed answers.
On the last episode, Noah and Quentin targeted Renautas. Meanwhile, Miko landed in trouble as she tried to retrieve her sword; Malina inched closer to the truth; Luke faced his past by returning home; authorities swarmed in on Tommy; and Carlos found a possible ally. On tonight’s episode as per the NBC’s synopsis, “Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) returns in the fight to save humanity. Also: Noah seeks much-needed answers; Tommy and Emily embark on an unexpected journey; Luke must face what he has become; and Malina finds an unforeseen ally.”

#HeroesReborn begins with Harris prime being tortured by Noah. He wants to know where Hiro is and why they have the sword. Harris plays dumb. Carlos is beating on Dearing and wants to know where his nephew Jose is. Carlos shows he has the bag of cash he stole from Dearing’s place. Noah dunks Harris again and tells him take me to your boss or die. Quentin tells Noah he’s serious. Dearing says he’s been taking $10k a head for anyone with powers. He says Sunstone Manor is a place they keep EVOs.
Harris says Phoebe is on her way back to Canada and Francis is being moved. Taylor tosses Noah a device to keep Harris in check – he shoves it up his nose and it makes it impossible for Harris to grow more of him. This is the start of Chapter Six, Game Over. Ren is at a coffee shop online logged onto the game watching Miko play. She finds her father and says she’s there to save him. He says he’s not her father, just a creation and shows her the Eternal Fortress is the only place that can hold the master of Time and Space.
Erica freaks out on Richard about Miko finding the prisoner. Richard says he’s reprogramming Evernow and he’s cloaking it so she won’t find it. Ren says the fortress is gone. MIko is stunned. The man tells Miko she must continue on alone and he disappears. Luke is at a marina and makes a call on is cell to Joanne and leaves her a voice mail. He says he wanted to touch base. He says he sold the practice and burned down the house. He hangs up on the call and throws his cell into the water.
A guy, Bob Berman, introduces himself as a boat salesman. Luke says he wants one like his model, only bigger and shows it to him. Malina hops off the log truck and we see she’s at the same marina as Luke. Miko closes the sword in the game and reappears to Ren in real life. She says they’ve hidden the fortress. He reminds her that everything in the game has a real-life counterpart. She draws a symbol for him she saw and he does an image search. He finds a pic of Erica at Renautus and reads off the address. It’s a secure facility. Noah is there with Harris and he tells Quentin to take the device off him.
Noah says if Harris tries to clone, he’ll blow his head off. Ren and Miko are also there and decide it must be the eternal fortress. It’s heavily guarded. She opens the sword so she can enter it in the game and says she’ll find a way to get him in. There’s a giant guard there facing her down. He tells her she will never free the master of space and time. Miko comes back to Ren and tells him about the giant guard. He says it must be the Kaiju Bandit and says no one has ever defeated him. Ren says he’s an expert. She goes back into the game and Ren is with her.
They face off against the guard and Ren tells her to distract the guy. He tells her to stab is in the back of the neck and she does but then his battery dies and he’s out of the game. Ren scales the fence and goes into the warehouse to look around. He climbs into a cardboard box and shuts the lid. Taylor goes looking for Francis. She’s in a storage facility and finds the empty captive chairs. She starts crying. She sits down and sobs bitterly.
Tommy shows up to Emily’s and she asks if he’s really adopted and if his mom told him the truth. He says he’s not normal and wishes he was boring. He says his mom lost all his baby photos and is frustrated. Emily shows him a horrible middle school pic of herself and says he should be grateful. He asks if she wants to get out of here. She says okay and asks where to. He touches her shoulder and they are at the Eiffel Tower. They are almost run down by bikers.
Malina goes to a vending machine at the marina and looks around. She focuses her power and waves her hand and the machine rattles Luke comes out and sees the tail end of this. He drops down his bag and goes to touch it but electricity zaps his hand. He nods at her and walks away. Carlos asks Dearing what they do to EVOs there and how he can sell out his own people. They bicker and Dearing says no one else could go in after his nephew. He says to get into Sunstone, they swab for powers.
He laughs and says Carlos can’t get in but says there may be a way if he’s crazy enough but says he won’t like it. Carlos speeds on down the road. Emily tells Tommy she’s so excited to be there. She says they’re scanning for EVOs at the tower and he tells her it will be fine. The soldiers scan him and tell him no EVOs allowed. Tommy says he could send the tower into space if he wanted but won’t. Other soldiers come running. Tommy touches her and they disappear only to reappear onto a ferry nearby.
Emily tells him it was risky and asks what he’s thinking. He says he’s supposed to save the world and says he knows it sounds crazy. He says his protector was at the hospital with his mom and told him it’s his destiny. Tommy says he’s not the hero they want him to be. Emily tells him she needs to show him something. Taylor come to her mom’s office and logs onto her computer. She watches video of them packing up the EVOs. She copies the videos onto a flash drive when she hears a noise.
She finds a plan in her mom’s desk that says – Escalating Evolution – and she grabs it and the flash drive. Harris walks the guys into the facility and then Miko appears. She attacks Harris and then Noah says the sword belongs to a friend of his. She says it belongs to her father and was stolen by Erica her sworn enemy. Noah says Erica is their enemy as well. She says her father gave her the mission to save the master of time and space. Noah says he knows him and his name is Hiro Nakamura. He proposes they join ventures. Quentin asks if she’s a larper. Miko opens the sword and goes back into the game.
Luke is on his boat and we see he has bricks in his backpack. Looks like he’s going to drown himself. Malina sits with the bloody envelope and watches Luke strap on the backpack and step into the water. Malina runs to the water as Luke sinks. She looks around and then uses her power to pull him up. He comes back up out of the water and gasps as she lifts him up. People watch him swirl onto the grass by her. He gasps as she lets him fall the last few feet onto the ground.
He is shocked that she saved him. Richard’s people are zapping boxes into the mystery location. Ren is in a box that’s in line to be transported. Noah and Quentin come into the room with the gun drawn and Richard yells a warning. A handful of people cap themselves into the future. Noah shoots the guy in the leg and Richard finally says Hiro is not there. He says they had to imprison him somewhere without time and space. Quentin realizes he’s trapped in the video game. Richard says no one can get him out.
Ren pops out of his box and says we can’t get him out but Katana Girl can. Miko is in the fortress and sees mirrors and a voice speaking to her. A mirror version of her comes into being and challenges her. The girl tells her she’s not real and is just a character from Evernow. Noah and the others watch this game. Ricahrd says Miko died in a car crash and that Miko is a program, a virus and she’s not alive. Richard says the only way to free Hiro is for her to sacrifice herself.
The girl tells Miko if she saves him, the game ends, and she’ll die. She makes it to the door where Hiro is and then Miko comes back out of the game. Miko says there is one final obstacle – herself. Richard laughs. The elevator clanks and Quentin says they have company. The elevator opens and there are three Harrises there along with Phoebe. Quentin tells her to stop. The Harrises open fire and the four run into the other room where the doors are bullet proof and Noah breaks the controller.
In Paris, Emily gives Tommy some background on Paris and how it was the home of a revolution. She takes him to a shop that sells comic books and how the love of comic book ended when a girl jumped off a ferris wheel. She shows him a 9th wonders comic book and says it looks like him. He says it’s issue 31 and he’s been hunting it for years. He says he’s worried he’s not good enough but she says it’s his fate. Tommy says he’s ready to go back now.
Miko tries to go back in the game but Quentin says his sister shuts down powers. He says he can try to talk sense to her so they don’t have to hurt her. Harris gets in and Noah shoots one then Miko cuts another in half. Quentin speaks to Phoebe and begs her to stop and leave with him now. Finally, he tackles her and Noah tells Miko to go now. He asks if she will die when she frees him. Miko says she must go and complete her mission. Ren says he loves her and she says she knows then she goes.
Noah tells Ren to get out now. Phoebe asks Quentin what he’s done and she moves to attack him. He tells her Erica is lying to her. She says Erica gave her purpose and says if that girl frees the time traveler, they’re all dead. She’s attacking her brother then Noah whacks her in the head with something and knocks her out. Quentin asks if he saved her – there’s blood coming out of his nose and mouth – her darkness killed him. More Harrises are there and have their guns on Noah along with other guards.
Miko fights the female character who tells her she will never fulfill her destiny. Miko beheads her and whispers Yatta. She says she hopes she made him proud. She pushes her sword through a hole in the door and it starts to break apart. Noah tells Harris that Erica will betray him in the end since he hates EVOs. Harris fires a gun at Noah but the bullet stops a foot shy of him and hangs there suspended. Noah points it away from him and stands.
The Harrises and guards are frozen. Hiro is there and pulls a plug out of the back of his head. Noah walks to him and puts his hand on his shoulder. He tells him – good to see you old friend. Hiro tells Noah he can’t change the past for him. Noah says Erica slaughtered thousands on June 13 and killed their friends and wants the world to burn. Noah says Erica will success if he doesn’t stop her. Hiro says Erica bent time for her own benefit and says that wrong must be corrected. He agrees to take him back to June 13.
Hiro says they can’t step on any butterflies. They disappear. The guards unfreeze and see they are alone. Taylor is at a cheap hotel and an ad for Renautus is on TV. News says Hero Truther activists vandalized many national monuments. The Truthers also released video about 600 EVOs that have gone missing. Taylor boots up her computer and tells Hero Truther to reach out to her. She says the missing EVOs were taken by her mother. We see a pregnancy test on the counter. Dearing tells Carlos that they need to switch places so he can convince them he’s a bounty. Carlos cuts the guy loose.
They are outside Sunstone Manor and Dearing says there are no guards, no fences, but no one wants to leave. He gives him a vial of his blood and tells him to drink it so he’ll get a false positive then they can rescue the priest and his nephew. Carlos drinks it and tarts coughing horribly. He asks what’s going on and Carlos yanks the feed out of his nose. Carlos asks what he did and then his vision beings to blur. Carlos says – did I leave that part out?
Malina brings Luke a coffee and a snack and tells him to eat. She says if he won’t eat, he can at least tell her why he killed himself. He says he used to have a reason for living then he lost it. He says he was looking for a sign. Malina says she’s looking for something too – someone actually. She says there are 7 billion people in the world and she has to find him. She shows him a photo of Tommy and he asks where she got it. She asks if he knows him. Luke says he doesn’t know him exactly but he’s in Carbondale, IL.
Malina says that’s why she had to save him and that’s the sign. She tells him she and that guy together will save the world. Luke laughs a little and hands back the photo. He tells her they better get going. Emily is digging the tracker out of Tommy’s arm and asks what he’s going to do with it. He says he’s thinking Antarctica and whisks it away. He thanks her for today and she says he’s the one who took her to Paris. He says he feels like she’s known him forever. They kiss. Then they kiss again.
Erica watches the video message that Taylor recorded about how she took the EVO videos. She said that Renautus kidnapped the EVOs. Harris buzzes in and says Hiro is loose. She curses and throws her tablet. Hiro takes Noah back to June 13 and he asks if Noah has a plan. He says he does. They are at the Odessa Summit one year ago.
