Roscoe and Lex broke up. Jeannie admited that she tipped the FBI when they didn’t find a thing on DollaHyde but the Food deals. Jeannie was cleared, but Marty was taken in for questioning. In order for the company not to close, Marty had to resign and get out.

On tonight’s episode per say the Showtime synopsis, “season 4 begins with Marty eager to grow Kaan and Associates, and telling a pregnant Jeannie exactly what her future is with the company. Meanwhile, the Pod leaves one client in pursuit of a much bigger payday.”

Recap Here!

Marty sits in the desert. He coughs then swats away a fly. He says f- it and walks off. He says the whole enlightenment thing wasn’t for him. He talks about different dharma beliefs then trips a guy who annoyed him. He says he believes in the dharma of kicking ass and taking no prisoners. He steps over the three people he took down with one trip. He says at the end of the day, reality wins. He tells Jeannie, Doug and Clyde that they’re going to show up and pay their respects and get their man.

Doug bought a card but says the prose is a little florid. Jeannie says no card and they have to deal with the rat man thing since he’s calling her nonstop. She stands and Marty says they should run a couple of more models so they can bill more hours. He says it’s time to go and they roll out. They’re at the hackers’ place and the guy calls Marty his nig&^% and everything comes to a stop. They all stare. It’s awkward.

Clyde says he contacted Chelsea’s tattoo artist and he’s going to give back all the money. He says the guy was crying. She tells him to just say he’s a woman hater that can’t deal with women who know how broken he is. Jeannie says she must have read his diary. They tell Doug to get the phone and he and Clyde argue over it. Doug caves and answers the phone as the others get into the elevator.

They head to the cemetery and he asks if they feel like the seven (no four) samurai. Doug wants to get a selfie and Jeannie tells him to shut the f- up. Doug says it’s like Reservoir Dogs. They watch as Ellis Hightower is uncuffed and allowed to go into the funeral. He greets Marty and they look into the coffin at the guy. Ellis says he looks better than he did when he was alive. He spits on him.

Marty says they are desperate to close Hightower’s crazy ass and says it will bring them money and credibility – he says it’s their salvation. Ellis introduces them to Bruce Carp and asks why they haven’t rolled it out. Bruce says he’s trying to time the Phoenix release with his prison release. Jeannie tries to step in but Ellis tells her to step back.

Bruce calls Ellis a middle aged boy genius. They argue and Marty says this is good. Jeannie gets a call. Marty says chaos makes ka-ching for them. Jeannie says rat man has gone nuts and says she has 29 messages. They go see the guy and she asks how they can help him. He says to go back to their pretentious loft and create a real business plan.

He says he’s cutting their fee in half and will go to his wife if he doesn’t like it. He says his ex would likely bang him too. Rat man says K&A is circling the drain. Marty says they are since they are standing there talking to an idiot with a fifth grade education. Jeannie tries to get him to back down. Flashback to Marty finding Jeannie at his door and her telling him she’s not wearing panties.

She says he can at least throw her a revenge fuck up. She falls back on the bed and unbuttons her blouse. He tells her to get out but she kisses him instead. She keeps at him until he caves in and kisses her back. She pulls off his shirt and he pushes her down on the bed. She bites his shoulder as he mounts her. He says no and stops and pulls away. He opens the door and tells her to go.

She can’t believe it but pulls her clothes back on. She walks out. Now, she tries to get his attention. She tells rat man Rob that she has nightmares about him. Doug tries to stop her. She says she’s paralyzed and he’s sniffing on her. She says she’s even spent time on him in therapy. She says he could hire Jesus to come up with a business plan but it will still sound like shit.

She says she needs food and Clyde says they can’t afford to even lose that shitty account. David says they can apologize for her being a crazy pregnant woman and Marty being an angry black man. Clyde says to stop at misogyny and racism. Marty tells them they can go back and tries to close him. Later, Marty and Jeannie work and she says it’s good they can work together and will have billable hours.

She says she thought it would be more awkward but it seems to be going well. Marty says it’s not going well at all. He says he needs her for now but can’t get over any of it. He says he doesn’t mean to sound like a pussy. She says he is. He tells her once they are past this transition she needs to leave for good. She reminds him she owns half this company. He says she burned it down with her lies and deceit.

He says he doesn’t care what she meant and says she did it. She asks if she’s supposed to walk into the job market eight months pregnant. He tells her to let Edwin take care of her. She says that’s mean. He asks if he doesn’t make enough money to take care of her and her baby. She says she’s not going to become dependent on some man.

He says this is how it will be like. He says they will hurt each other again and again in a cycle. He says it’s a wound that heals just enough and then they pull the scab off. She says it didn’t have to go this way and he says, but it did. She gets back to work but looks pretty miserable. Marty talks to Roscoe about his unanswered texts. He asks what he did and he says he hung out with friends.

He asks where Roscoe got the new X-box that he’s playing with Chantelle. Roscoe says Jeremiah didn’t buy it, it was Christmas money from his mom. He says his mom is trying to buy his love even though he’s not sure she wants it. His grandpa says to give them the benefit of the doubt and then tries to shut down the negativity. Roscoe tells Jeremiah he can’t just shuffle around with his GF.

Roscoe asks his dad if it’s getting too real for him. Marty gets mad and Jeremiah gets between them and stares them down. Marty says he knows he’s upset about what happened last year. Marty says he’s sorry and Roscoe says he is too then calls him Marty. Roscoe says he has to go meet Ethan. Marty asks why he didn’t ask him if he could go. Roscoe asks if he can go study.

Marty tells him to stop it and asks him to call when he gets there. Roscoe says that won’t happen. He leaves and Jeremiah tells Marty he was much worse at that age. Roscoe rides his board down the street with his ear buds in. He heads into the back of a skate shop and buys knockoff handbags from a guy. Marty heads into a meeting. Roscoe goes to sell his counterfeit goods for big bucks.

We see a flashback to Marty going to jail. We see Jeannie get out of her car and go into the prison to visit him. She goes to sit at a table with him. She tells him his prison wear is sweet. She sits and says wow. She says she’s not going to cry and he says he doesn’t need her shit on top of all the other stuff. She says it’s all her fault but he says he took the plea deal to get back to work faster and it’s on him.

He says the rest can keep for now. She tells him she’s pregnant. He asks if it’s his and she says it’s not. She says after everything between them went bad she rekindled things with Edwin, an old college beau. She says he’s a decent guy who live in New York and they’re going to try and make it work. She says she’s keeping the baby and says she never thought it would happen this why.

She says she had her eggs frozen and was going to buy the perfect sperm that would make up for all her flaws. She babbles about how she had a different plan but then says Edwin happened. She says he was willing to let her decide. She say she decided she wanted a baby more than a hermetically sealed life. Marty says it’s none of his business. She asks what he feels and he congratulates her and tells her not to push it.

Ellis Hightower comes in the room and sits down. She asks if that’s really the electric car guy and he says it is. She asks what she has to do to get in there. He says commit a felony and grow a penis. He says she’s done one out of two and she says she’ll work on the penis. She tells him she’s sorry for what happened and needs him to hear her say that. She pulls out the folders for them to do some work.

Later, we see Marty walking back from the desert and he screams out f- you to the universe. At the jail, he and Jeannie look at each other and he looks away, distracted. Fade to black.
