#HouseOfLies starts with Marty showing the progress. They’ve acquired three boutique firms and he says it’s a new Renaissance and he’s Da Vinci and Copernicus. He fires a guy who had the nerve to look him in the eye. The guy asks if that’s really happening then Marty tells him to bounce because he’s always late and a bit of a pervert. Marty sits at his fancy new desk sipping espresso. He says he’s limping because his balls are so big.

At school, Roscoe is delivery upscale bags to student customers. He thinks he’s balling and ignored his dad telling him to stop. Mr Andrews rolls up on him and says he talked to Debbie Nichols mom about how counterfeit handbags devastate the fashion industry. Kelsey meets with Clyde and Doug about the app and Clyde wishes her happy birthday and hands over concert tickets. Doug says his is being delivered. She kisses Clyde then Doug in front of Marty and takes off.

Marty asks how this is going both banging her. Doug is thrilled, Clyde is not happy about it. Doug says it’s bringing them closer together but Clyde says it’s horrible. He asks Doug to stop wearing that horrible cologne to her place but Doug says it’s his f-king cologne. Marty says they’ve got a new account Shag’s Burger Shack – a local fast food place that’s going national at long last. They talk about Luke Sullivan being anti-gay and a whole lot of other distasteful things.

Doug is horrified that the Burger Shack doesn’t offer salad. Marty says he’ll have a number one combo or a shot to the head. (It looks like a Five Guys!) They sit down with Charles and he he shows them a photo of him back in the day and Doug mocks him for flipping burgers then has to eat his words. They talk about franchising. Charles says Luke Sullivan wants to hear what he wants to hears and tells him to stick with that to be a top contender.

Doug and Clyde rant that his advice was to give him what he wants. Marty says they need to give him what he doesn’t know he wants. He tells them to go research and pull Jeannie in on it. Marty takes off after calling Doug an idiot. Marty is out with Denna and tells her that Roscoe has been caught with black market bags. She offers him a summer internship. They are at a fancy place and he says he had a Shag burger for lunch. Denna says she needs Marty to blow the deal.

She has a deal brewing with a big company whose arches are golden. She says it’s a billion dollar deal and since he’s under her umbrella it’s an issue. She says he should go in and recommend that it’s a bad time for them to franchise. Marty says a stay the course strategy is a sure loser and he won’t get the gig. She says he can make it work. Doug asks Clyde for present advice from Kelsey and tells him to help an Eskimo brother out.

Jeannie listens as they chat. Doug says he’s going to get Kelsey a sexy teddy bear. Jeannie asks Clyde how long he’s going to let Doug stick his thing into his GF but Clyde says Kelsey likes him. Marty comes in and says there’s a change of plan on Shags and says to build a stay the course strategy. Jeannie asks why but he walks out. She follows him into his office and Marty says it’s the play they have to make and not to nag him. Jeannie says she’s sorry. He asks why.

Jeannie says she doesn’t know what happened or why but gets that they have people to answer to now and she knows it will make him miserable. She says she’s sorry he has to feel that way. Marty comes home and Chantelle tells him that Malcolm had a bad day – his new GF dumped him and his TV pilot got a thumbs down. Marty isn’t sympathetic. Roscoe comes in and Marty asks what happened when he told him to stop selling purses. Roscoe says they’re bags, not purses.

Roscoe says he sold a handbag to deep throat Debbie and her fashion designer mom was offended. Roscoe says he thinks she was just upset because it took her so long to figure out it was a fake. Malcolm rants and tries to make this a racial issue. Marty says Roscoe got caught and is going to face the price. Roscoe says at least no one can accuse of Marty of being a hypocrite this time and Malcolm says, in case Marty missed it, that’s because you went to jail.

Clyde is freaking at Kelsey’s because of the smell of Doug’s cologne and the teddy bear in lingerie that he can see Doug gave her. Clyde says he’s not happy with their arrangement and says he doesn’t want to share her with Doug or anyone. Kelsey says okay. Clyde thinks she means okay it’s over but she says she’ll be monogamous with him. He teases her and says that’s a lot of pressure and she must want to marry him now.

Malcolm rants to Chantelle that they gave a political show to Carlton from the Fresh Prince instead. He dances like Carlton while mocking the guy. Chantelle says he’s sorry then Malcolm tries to kiss her. She tells him she knows he’s drunk, but she’s going to bed with his father and will forget this happened. Malcolm says she’s too young for him anyway. Marty and Roscoe meet with Debbie and her mom and he pays the $100 back. Andrews sends the kids back to class.

Debbie’s mom says Roscoe must have had a tough go of it. She says in her day it was stolen beer or weed not designer drugs paid for by handbags. She says she’s heard rumors about parties and Marty says he’s only heard about rainbow parties. She leaves. Andrews says she has a lot of influence in the school community and wants him expelled. Marty is pissed off and Andrews says maybe he should finish his education elsewhere.

Marty says he’s going to fight this and will get loud if he has to and will talk with the diversity committee. He reminds Andrews he only has a dozen black students and reminds him that his son is gender fluid. Andrews says Roscoe will be gone either way so the question is how embarrassed Roscoe will be before it’s done. He recommends that Marty let Roscoe get a fresh start someplace new.

Clyde tells Doug that Kelsey is breaking off with him. Doug says he’s going to call her to be sure. Clyde says he should. Doug begs him to talk about it but Clyde says it’s over. Jeannie tells Marty everyone is in the conference room. He tells her to make him feel better and she says if she had to work for this backwards asshole, she would never stop bitching about it. Marty thanks her. Doug talks about regional sales growth.

Luke Sullivan says he was expecting more from the great Marty Kaan. Then Marty takes over the meeting and says they’re thorough and wants to show him something. He says they have been wasting his time. He says his burger shack can compete on the national level and they all know it but expansion means more scrutiny. He says they will tell Sullivan to keep his controversial mouth shut. Marty asks if he wants to keep his mouth shut. He says no.

Marty says to look at Jeannie about to experience the miracle of child birth. He asks where she sends her husband when she gets midnight cravings. She says her husband goes there. Marty says his father Pastor Jeremiah also agrees with his value. Marty says they should focus their build out where they know they have shared views. Marty says he should speak out about his values and how he stands for family and God. Marty says the median real estate prices in red states are lower.

Marty says lower over heads, bigger profits. He tells Sullivan to say whatever he wants whenever he wants. He says once he takes the red states he can march into those liberal markets like a triumphant hero. Roscoe is confronted by some girls who are angry that they got fake bags. Then his friends all give him the cold shoulder. Clyde, Marty and Doug toast their success for winning the account. They all talk about the good Pastor Jeremiah Kaan and he says his father would tell him to “get yourself motherf-king paid.” Jeannie says the imaginary happy husband is ready to go house hunting.

Sullivan calls Marty to tell him that he didn’t get the gig. He hangs up on him. Marty says they decided to go with a firm whose true core values are more in line with theirs. Marty storms out to go see Denna. He tells her it went great with Shag until she killed the deal. She admits it and says she liked to hear about his pastor Father and Jeannie’s husband.

She says Sullivan was shocked Jeannie was knocked up out of wedlock and that he has a gender bending son. Denna tells him he has no real power and that now he’s a problem she has to solve. She dismisses him out of hand and takes a call. He leaves disgusted with her.
