Into The Badlands AMC’s new martial arts drama series airs tonight with an all new Sunday November 22, season 1 episode 2 called “Fist Like a Bullet,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, M.K. (Aramis Knight) finds refuge in an unlikely and dangerous place.
On the last episode, in the season 1 premiere, the Badlands’ deadliest Clipper, Sunny, rescued a mysterious boy, M.K., who harbored a dark secret, but may have also knew the way out of the Badlands. On tonight’s episode as per the AMC synopsis, “M.K. finds refuge in an unlikely and dangerous place, while Sunny’s loyalty is tested when Quinn tries to force him to commit an unspeakable act.”

Tonight’s episode of Into The Badlands kicks off with Minerva aka “The Widow” visiting her old rejents Teague a visit at a bar. He scoffs that he isn’t coming back to work for her, he warned her that the other Barons were going to start coming after her. She begs him to come back to work for her – she has a plan to attack Quinn. While they are talking, a man comes in to the bar, he attempts to assassinate “the Widow” and throws a hatchet at her – she ducks and Teague is killed by the hatchet. She fights off the attackers all by herself and kills them all.
MK is still on the run since escaping from the plantation – he runs in to a girl his own age in the woods named Matilda. She offers him some food, while they are chatting – a group of search dogs can be heard in the distance. Matilda offers to help hide MK, she takes him on to the Widow’s lands. Sunny reminds Ryder that they can’t cross on to the Widow’s territory or it will be an act of war. Sunny heads back to the plantation and reports to the Baron that MK got away.
The Baron knows that there is a traitor in their midst, he wants to know who helped MK get away. Ryder vows to figure out who it was. Baron Quinn learned that The Widow and her regent were attacked at the bar – Ryder reassures his dad that he didn’t have anything to do with the attack.
Matilda takes MK back to her house and introduces him to her mother – The Widow. Matilda draws MK a hot bath, The Widow questions MK while he is in the bath tub. She knows that MK was at the fort with Baron Quinn. She shows MK a picture of the necklace that he was wearing, The Widow says that she has been looking for the boy that was wearing the necklace. MK pretends that he has never saw it before.
The Widow is scheming to take down Quinn, she eets with a couple of nomads and offers them some of their own territory if they help her take down Quinn. They laugh off her offer and say that they don’t want to work with a bunch of girls. The Widow makes a deal with them, she bets them that Matilda can take down one of them – if she wins then they will help her conquer Quinn. Matilda kills a grown man in under 30 seconds. The Widow watches on proudly, MK peeks through a curtain and watches the entire exchange.
Baron Quinn and Sunny stop by the Doctor’s house in the woods – Doc Vernon says that he could have come by the Fort. While the Baron and the Doc are in his office, Hannah discusses Veil’s baby with Sunny. Sunny begs Hannah to talk some sense in to Veil, they can’t have the baby, it is against his code as a regent to have a family. Meanwhile, inside the Doc’s office the Baron gets bad news – his disease is worsening, the doctor warns him that he is only going to get weaker.
The Baron and Sunny leave the doctor’s house – Quinn tells Sunny that he needs him to go inside and clip the doctor and his wife. Sunny is horrified, he argues that they only clip their enemies. Quinn shouts that the enemy is “anyone who he names,” and the doctor has a secret that could destroy the whole fort. Sunny refuses to do it – Baron Quinn takes Sunny’s sword and marches inside and kills the doctor and his wife Hannah.
The Widow takes Matilda aside – she tells her daughter that MK is lying to them and she can tell that he is “the one.” The Widow tells Matilda that she needs to cut MK and make him bleed, then if his powers come out, they will have found the boy that they have been looking for. Matilda feels bad and doesn’t have the heart to cut MK. She cuts her own hand and pretends that it is MK’s blood – The Widow watches from around the corner. It looks like Matilda may have fooled her mother, MK is safe for now.
Veil is devastated when she learns that the doctor and Hannah were murdered. She demands that Sunny tell her who killed them – Sunny confesses that it was the Baron himself. Veil sobs that he took her whole family. Sunny comforts her and tells Veil that he is her family now, and he is going to protect her and the baby. He promises Veil that he is going to get them out of the Badlands.
MK sneaks in to Matilda’s room while she is sleeping in the middle of the night. He begs her to help him escape from The Widow’s house. Matilda helps him search for an escape passage in the house. While they are in The Widow’s office – she returns. Matilda kisses MK – when her mother walks in an catches them she sneers that MK is no longer welcome at their house. She gives him to the nomads, they tell The Widow that they are always looking to “build their ranks.” The nomads take MK outside, and then hit him over the head and knock him out. Apparently Baron Quinn has put a bounty out on MK and they plan on cashing in on it.
Ryder gets a tip that the nomads are skimming off Quinn’s opium shipments nad selling them out of an old concubine station. Little does he know, he is being set up by The Widow. Ryder and Sunny head to the building to check it out. There is no opium in the old abandoned building – but there is a couple dozen nomads there waiting for them. Sunny busts out his sword and manages to massacre all of the nomads.
MK arrives in the nick of time and saves Sunny by stabbing the leader of the nomads in the chest. Sunny tells MK to get out before Ryder wakes up (the nomads choked him out). MK confesses that he lied, and he knows how to get out of the badlands. Sunny says that he is going to train MK, and send Veil and the baby with him, he has to protect them.
Sunny takes MK back to the fort with them, they rush Ryder inside to get him medical attention. Sunny announces that he is taking MK on as his colt and to trade him, Quinn agrees but warns that he will be keeping an eye on him. Quinn tells everyone to “saddle up” – they are going to war against The Widow.
