It looks like Jennifer Aniston is getting her way, and she doesn’t have to worry about her husband Justin Theroux filming on location in Texas any longer. Today HBO announced in an official press release that the network had pulled the plug on the show due to its low ratings. It technically wasn’t “cancelled.” Apparently, TPTB at ‘The Leftovers’ saw the writings on the wall (and the dismal ratings reports) and bowed out gracefully and announced that the series would come to an end after Season 4.
One of the geniuses behind ‘The Leftovers’ and Justin Theroux’s co-workers shared this statement after news broke that the show was coming to an end “On behalf of our incredible crew and superb cast, we are all tremendously grateful that HBO is giving us an opportunity to conclude the show on our own terms…an opportunity like this one rarely comes along, and we have every intention of living up to it. One more thing. We are blessed by the unwavering support of our fans and the incredibly powerful voice of the critical community. We feel absolutely privileged to heat up one last helping of leftovers.”
Since Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston tied the knot in 2015 after one of Hollywood’s longest engagements EVER – Jen was not happy with the fact that she was playing second fiddle to Justin’s project ‘The Leftovers.’ Tabloids reported that there was trouble in paradise when Justin ditched Jen right after the wedding to rush back to Austin, Texas to work on the HBO show. She even reportedly demanded that Justin move the location of filming to California so he could be closer to home – but he wasn’t having it. There is no doubt that Jennifer Aniston is secretly thrilled that her husband is out of work.
