Michael Lohan’s wife Kate Major will be spending Thanksgiving Day in jail after an airplane meltdown led to her arrest by federal agents and charges that might result in a lengthy prison stay. Apparently Kate hit the bar a little too hard before her flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles on Thursday, November 26.
According to TMZ, Major was taking shots in an airport bar before takeoff and by the time the flight departed, Kate was visibly drunk.
While in the air, Kate Major reportedly became irate and blew up at a fellow passenger. Then when a flight attendant tried to intervene, she went off on them too. Kate was reportedly upset about the amount of legroom on her flight and decided to have a full on freak out. The tantrum was so scary that the flight crew decided to make a special stop in New Orleans to have Kate removed from the flight.
Once in New Orleans, Kate Major was arrested by airport police who handed Michael Lohan’s wife over to the FBI. Major was charged with interfering with a flight crew, which is a felony. If Kate is convicted of the felony charge, Lohan’s wife is looking at a minimum of several months behind bars in a federal prison.
The irony of Kate Major’s airport booze binge is that she wasn’t flying to Los Angeles for a festive family feast. Michael Lohan’s estranged wife was heading to a 30 day inpatient facility so she can get her addiction issues under control.
It looks like Kate’s last minute booze fest backfired and now she’ll get to sober up in custody instead of a swanky rehab center as she previously had planned.
This is just another tragedy for Kate and her estranged hubby Michael Lohan in recent months. It looks like Kate’s latest attempt to get her kids back in her own custody blew up in her face. Major won’t be able to claim a successful rehab stay and changed ways to help win her two young sons back and now she has to deal with some pretty serious federal charges too.
Kate Major is expected to see a judge on Friday to see how she will plead for her Thanksgiving Day meltdown and one thing is for sure, this latest stunt will not help with the child custody fight – because you know, everybody needs to get bombed drunk and arrested on their way to rehab.
