Kate Middleton and Carole Plan Mustique Vacation Escape From Queen Elizabeth: Royal Children Whisked Away in Power Play

Kate Middleton has already been branded as “lazy” and “Duchess Do Little,” but Queen Elizabeth’s displeasure is not stopping the Duchess of Cambridge from a vacation after her maternity leave. The monarch may be enjoying her annual pilgrimage to Scotland, but the Kate has plans to escape from the Queen Elizabeth Feud with her mother, Carole Middleton, by whisking the royal children away in a power play. While the Queen’s away, the Middletons will make a play. The women of the Middleton family – Carole Middleton, Pippa Middleton, and Kate Middleton – have all organized a family trip to Mustique.

The private island is a favorite of the “Nearly Royals” and the royal couple. Prince William and Kate took a vacation to the island last year, leaving Prince George in the care of Carole and Michael Middleton. This year, the royal couple will bring both Prince George and Princess Charlotte on the holiday according to the Daily Mail.

Carole, Kate, and Pippa have mapped out a trip for their branch of the family, ensuring Prince George and Princess Charlotte will remain in the care (and under the influence) of the Middletons. Princess Charlotte will be 6 months old by the time they take the retreat, but a source told the media outlet, “This time it’s too much to leave both children with her parents so William and Kate are taking the kids with them – and bringing Carole with them, too.”

There is no mention of the royals bringing their trusted nanny, either. It will just be the Middletons, possibly just Carole, Pippa, Kate, and William along with the children. Michael and James Middleton have yet to be officially added to the trip.

The report states that the Middleton family vacation to Mustique will give the Duchess a break from her royal duties (what duties, smiling at a camera every two weeks for an hour?), further noting Kate is “desperate” to get away. Kate Middleton has been on maternity leave since she gave birth to Princess Charlotte on May 2. In a previous Vanity Fair report, insiders also revealed the Duchess would not be participating in any royal engagements for the rest of the summer. So, what is Kate Middleton taking a vacation from?

The break sounds more like a private retreat to regroup and continue the March of the Middletons in the wake of Queen Elizabeth’s plans for retaliation. Coincidentally, Queen Elizabeth is due to return from her Balmoral vacation in the Highlands of Scotland in October. Carole and Kate Middleton have planned to jet off for their “family vacation” a few weeks later, in November. Previous family trips to the sandy island took place in late January into February.
