We’ve been saying for years that Kate Middleton’s ‘grin and bear it’ strategy has been working wonders for her PR, but the strain imposed by Queen Elizabeth is starting to show. Kate has always been the picture of a perfect royal escort, but the cracks in the facade are starting to get bigger. No doubt that being used as a PR tool like Princess Diana was is taking it’s toll on Kate Middleton. Look closely at the photos below and you will see how Kate is aging and showing the stress she is placed under by the Palace. After suffering through Hyperemesis Gravidarum for a second time, being forced by Queen Elizabeth to return to a grueling schedule of royal engagements was not easy for her, and it showed. The fashion got a little more haphazard, the clothing a little less formal, and the smiles a little less… smiley?
The New York Observer has an in-depth piece about how Kate always put her royal duties and her royal image above her own pleasure, even at the price of her happiness. In fact, the article even adds, “There’s no doubt they are pushing Will and Kate to maintain their humdrum image after the whirlwind of scandal surrounding the palace in the 1980s and early 1990s thanks to the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of York.”
Think about it – when do we ever see Kate Middleton out with her friends or hanging out with her family in public? Everything is done behind closed doors, even spending time with Prince George. A part of that is necessitated by safety concerns, considering that the Duchess of Cambridge can’t exactly walk around in public like a normal person, especially if she’s carrying the heir to the throne. But that being said, Kate DID used to spend time with friends and go party and actually enjoy life before she got married. But after her marriage? Good-bye personal life, hello regimented and suffocating royal life.
The life of a royal escort is never easy, but you’d think that things have changed enough in the 21st century to allow for some leniency, right? No wonder nobody wants to marry Prince Harry, even famewhores like Cressida Bonas. Giving up every level of free will and choice to become a royal escort? That may have sounded appealing to Kate Middleton when she and her mother were carefully plotting a way to steal Prince William’s heart, but I guarantee that she’s having second thoughts.
