Lamar Odom made a huge step in his recovery, literally – he walked for the first time since his overdose. The former NBA player finally was able to take a few steps without the assistance of his walker and doctors are calling it a miracle.
Odom is making so much progress that he will be moving to a rehab center near Khloe Kardashian’s house for further treatment soon.
Lamar has a lot of work to do and still may never fully recover from his Nevada brothel overdose back in October. The former Los Angeles Lakers star suffered so much damage to his brain from multiple strokes that reports claim Lamar didn’t even recognize some of his own family members during recent hospital visits.
This is why the TMZ report claiming that Lamar Odom shocked his doctors and took three full steps without the aid of his walker is such great news for his recovery. These reports are also very telling of how much healing Lamar still has left and it’s pretty likely that he’ll never fully recover.
Khloe Kardashian has talked a bit about how Odom is doing. In November, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when she admitted that Lamar wasn’t doing nearly as well as many reports claimed.
Khloe gave details of the extent of injury to Odom’s brain and there’s really no way he could be doing half the things reports were claiming.
Lamar’s brain injury is so devastating that the former basketball star still thought he was 26-years old according to Kardashian last month. Odom also didn’t even know how he wound up in the hospital and doctors feared that if they told him, that might set him back.
There is no way Odom even has the mental capacity at this point to have an opinion about Khloe Kardashian’s romance with baller boyfriend James Harden.
How can Lamar be worried about anything when he sometimes doesn’t even know his own name? Despite the often misleading stories about Odom’s recovery and his issues with Kardashian’s James Harden romance, the reality TV family continues to stick by his side.
Khloe has plans to move Lamar Odom into a rehab facility closer to her home and that could happen any day now. Once moved, Lamar will be much close to the whole Kardashian – Jenner family, who have been very attentive and careful to make sure Lamar doesn’t get lonely while he fights to make a full recovery.
