Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have had a fairly contentious divorce so far, even though they’ve tried to put up a united front. However, recent reports suggest that Nick Cannon has signed a book deal to tell his side of the divorce, and Mariah Carey is absolutely furious at the betrayal.
Apparently, Nick wanted a $30 million divorce settlement, but Mariah didn’t agree. Thus, Nick went and signed a tell-all book deal with Simon & Schuster, saying that he was going to get his just rewards for staying with her for so long, one way or another.
A source tells the Daily Mail, “Mariah was willing to give Nick $10 million but he said ‘hell no’ and demanded $30. Mariah says it is what they agreed to in the prenup before they got married. Mariah kept telling Nick she was not going to give him a penny more than $10 million. He told her he could write a book and get $30 million and much more for a movie deal for all of the crap she put him through over the years. Mariah told Nick nobody cares what he has to say and told him to take it or leave it because that’s it – not a penny more.”
You know that saying, ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?‘ Well, in this case, I think it’s definitely ‘hell hath no fury like an ex-husband scorned’. Or more specifically, an ex-husband that was made to be Mariah Carey’s go-for for the past five years, and now he wants payback. To be honest, Mariah Carey has the $10 million to spare, and doesn’t she think that it’s worth it to protect her secrets? Nick Cannon could destroy her reputation if he went public with everything he knew, and it seems like he doesn’t care what she does in retaliation. Mariah Carey better buckle down and lawyer up, because this is about to get really, really ugly.
