Nick Cannon escaped Mariah Carey’s clutches with a poorly timed divorce, and he’s now publicly moving on from her with Nicole Murphy. Can you imagine Mariah Carey losing her mid with jealousy right now? I wouldn’t be surprised if she was staging a fit, crying and throwing diva tantrums everywhere. But Nick Cannon suffered through Mariah Carey’s diva behavior, and he’ll be damned if he lets her memory affect his future.
There were rumors a few weeks ago that Nick was dating Nicole Murphy, even though sources at the time claimed that it wasn’t anything serious. However, sources told Page Six that Nick and Nicole went on a romantic Valentine’s Day date together, even though they attempted to keep it on the down-low. And what’s ironic, they were reportedly so engrossed in each other that they didn’t notice a Mariah Carey song playing during dinner. Of course if was Mariah singing live and off key they would have noticed!
The sources elaborate by explaining, “The couple showed up at 11 p.m., when most other diners were already gone. They were holding hands across the table, and gazing at each other throughout their meal.”
Are we witnessing the birth of a new couple? Sure, both Nick Cannon and Nicole Murphy are getting out of long-term relationships [Nicole from her engagement to Michael Strahan], but that doesn’t mean that their rebounds can’t turn into anything serious. We’ve seen this time and time again – couples in Hollywood will get out of long-term relationships or engagements, and then jump right into another serious relationship. Plus, I have a feeling Nick Cannon is [consciously or unconsciously] making an effort to make Mariah Carey jealous, especially since he’s not even attempting to hide his new romance with Nicole Murphy.
