Meghan Trainor Cancels Shows Due To Vocal Cord Hemorrhage - Doctors Order Singer To Undergo Complete Vocal Rest!

Meghan Trainor, 21, has announced that she will have to cancel a couple of shows due to an injury involving her vocal cords. It seems like every other day a new singer is postponing a show or damaging their vocal cords. We recently reported that singer Sam Smith had to undergo surgery to repair his voice, and now we’re sad to report something similar has afflicted the “All About that Bass” singer.

Trainor, known for her hit song “All About That Bass” has suffered a vocal cord hemorrhage that has made it difficult for her to even speak without feeling an intense pain. Due to this, Trainor has announced that the first two concerts of her tour, which was set to begin this week, have been postponed.

Meghan Trainor took to Instagram to reveal the sad news. She said, “I don’t want anyone worrying but I have had a hemorrhage on my vocal cords. Right now the doctors want me to complete vocal rest until they are healed so I have to postpone my first two shows in Atlantic City and Connecticut.”

The MTrain tour was set to kick off her second major concert series at The Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City, followed by a show at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on the Fourth of July. The tour will run through September, so Trainor will absolutely have time to reschedule the two cancelled shows.

In Trainor’s statement on Instagram the singer added, “I promise that I will make it up to my Megatronz. I have never missed a tour date before so this is killing me. I love you all very much and want to get healed quickly so I can show yo this amazing tour we’ve been working on. I am truly sorry to everyone who has bought tickets and made travel plans. I hate this.”

Having a vocal cord injury is very serious to a singer, and we hope that Meghan Trainor gets better soon. It is important to take care of your vocal cords and give them the rest needed. They are just like any other muscle, and overusing your vocal cords will lead to serious problems.
