Noah Galloway Dancing With The Stars Marriage Proposal Backlash: Did War Veteran Propose To Jamie Boyd As Publicity Stunt?

Was Noah Galloway’s proposal to his girlfriend on Dancing With The Stars a publicity gimmick? The Iraq War veteran proposed to his girlfriend, Jamie Boyd, on live television on Monday May 11, and will go down in history as the first DWTS proposal on live television. While overall Noah’s proposal received rave reviews from touched fans, some viewers are calling foul and saying it gave him an unfair advantage over other competitors.

Fan favorites Derek Hough and Nastia Liukin were eliminated the following night on the ABC dancing competition. The question on everyone’s mind is…would Nastia and Derek be going to the finals if Noah Galloway hadn’t proposed to his girlfriend Jamie Boyd? Nastia and Derek could dance circles around Noah and his partner Sharna, but at the end of the day, it is up to America’s votes to decide which couple stays and which couple is eliminated. Would Noah and Sharna have been eliminated if he didn’t propose to his girlfriend the night before?

Noah’s heartfelt proposal on live television to Jamie Boyd was super sweet, and we enjoyed it just as much as the rest of the DWTS fans. However, the timing of their engagement screams PUBLICITY GIMMICK. Of all times to propose to his girlfriend, Noah Galloway chose the semi-finals, the week that everyone was betting he would be eliminated. On the other hand, Noah’s proposal could backfire against him. Some Dancing With The Stars fans have taken to social media to rant about the dancing competition – and are claiming that Noah lost their votes because he tried to win America over by proposing to his girlfriend, instead of with his dance moves.

What do you think, DWTS fans? Was Noah Galloway’s proposal completely from the heart, or was it planned precisely during the semi-finals to ensure he made it through to the next round? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
