Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles Assassination Plot: Irish Police Seize Guns And Bombs Intended To Kill Royal Couple

Prince Charles and his second wife Camilla Parker-Bowles just narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. Charles and Camilla are scheduled to visit Mullaghmore, Ireland on May 19 so that Charles can pay his respects to his late uncle, Lord Mountbatten – who was killed there back in 1979. According to a new report, Irish police have detained multiple men and seized an arsenal of handguns and homemade bombs that were intended to be used to kill Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

The Irish police have been monitoring numerous people thought to be a threat to the royals over the last couple of months – in anticipation of Prince Charles and Camilla’s visit to Mullaghmore. An inside source dished to the Irish Mirror, “Two males in their 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Manorhamilton Garda Station.”

Overall, over 20 properties were searched and a total of six men were arrested after being linked to the assassination plot, the source goes on to confirm that the men are all thought to be linked to the Real IRA and Continuity.

As members of the royal family for many years, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are no stranger to terrorist threats and rumored assassination plots. But, surely this incident hit a little too close to home for the royal couple. The fact of the matter is, assassination plots like this one that was foiled by Irish police are only going to become more and more frequent as Queen Elizabeth gets ready to step down from the throne – and the day that Prince Charles is set to become King gets closer and closer.
