Roman Polanski Escapes Justice Again: Rapist Protected by Poland, France and Hollywood

Roman Polanski escaped prison again after a Polish judge refused to extradite the fugitive filmmaker back to the United States. Polanski has been on the run from the U.S. since 1977 when he was convicted of drugging and having sex with a 13-year old girl.

Krakow judge Judge Dariusz Mazur ruled that it would be “obviously unlawful” to release Roman Polanski back into U.S. custody. The judge concluded that Polanski would be deprived of his freedom and that California could not “provide humane living conditions” for the aging pedophile. We’re pretty sure that an empty prison cell is humane enough considering the crime that Polanski was convicted of committing.

It has been 38 years since the disgraced Polanski was tried and convicted of illegally engaging in sexual relations with a child. The attack on Samantha Gailey happened 38 years ago at the California home of Jack Nicholson. Gailey claimed she had been summoned to the home for a photo shoot.

Once there, Gailey claims that she was given painkillers and champagne before Roman Polanski carried out a vicious assault. The disgraced director initially pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse in a deal with prosecutors to drop more serious charges of rape, drugging and sodomy.

Had Polanski been convicted of all the charges against him, rather than taking that plea deal, he could have been sentenced to life in prison. As it stood, the seriously reduced charges meant maybe a few years in prison, to the outrage of parents everywhere.

Polanski never saw a jail cell though because he fled the United States and has since been hiding out in countries that do not have extradition treaties with the U.S.

Despite all efforts to force him back to the U.S. to face his disgusting crime. Despite numerous requests to extradite the convicted child rapist and make him pay for his heinous crime, Polanski always seems to stay in sympathetic countries like Poland and France.

It is unclear why Roman Polanski has been protected by a handful of European countries throughout the decades. It is even more unclear is why so many of Hollywood’s elite support such a despicable person and have been working to keep Polanski free.
