RECAP:

#Stitchers begins at Kirsten and Camille’s place. Kirsten comes in and drops the mail then grabs a drink. Camille comes in yawning and Kirsten tells her she forgot the cheese. Camille is annoyed. Camille opens a package addressed to Kirsten and sees it’s a copy of Catcher in the Rye. Camille says at least now she doesn’t have to reseal her mail so she won’t know. Kirsten says she knows she took her favorite shirt and now it reeks of curry. Camille asks if she can borrow it for her date last night.

Kirsten says yes and Camille thanks her. She asks to read the book and Kirsten says no. Justin Link died of a heart attack at his food truck. He was only 30 and ran an artisanal toast truck. Maggie says he was a conspiracy blogger when he wasn’t in the food truck and is ex-CIA. She says he blogged about government secrets. She says his posts were too close to the truth and they need to know his sources because he annoyed many governmental agencies.

She says he posted that he got some more secret documents and would post them last night but then he dropped dead before he could post them. Maggie asks Kirsten if she’s ready. They put Kirsten in the tank and neurosync her. They put her in and she sees words everywhere and hears voices in addition to what she sees. She sees Justin in the food truck. He’s telling a customer the fodo pyramid is a myth. She says she’s in his blog and at his truck.

Justin says the food pyramid is designed to depopulate the earth then starts babbling about chem trails and agribusiness killing off bees. Linus fine tunes the feeds and she’s got just visual. She says she’s not sure and Ayo says her lymbic system is going off the rails. Linus says her brain is spinning and Cameron says to focus. He says to click her heels and think about no place like home. It grounds her. She says he lived in the food truck. Maggie says to find the secrets.

Cameron suggests she look for a safe. Kirsten sees him with jumper cables and he hits them together causing sparks. She looks at what he’s looking at and then bounces out. Kirsten says they won’t freaking believe this. At a police impound lot, they go to check out the food truck. Kirsten tells them they’ll see why she brought them there. She pulls out the jumper cables and sparks them then a countertop raises up and Fisher and Cameron are stunned with his clever storage system.

Kirsten says he sorted it carefully and date and time stamped everything. She says she thinks she knows which info he was going to post and pulls out a blue folder. It triggers some sort of switch. They run and the food truck goes up in flames destroying the rest of his conspiracy files. Back at the lab, they meet with Maggie. The file folder contained a 5” floppy disk. They wonder if they need to time travel to read it. Maggie asks what they got off it and Kirsten says they couldn’t read it.

Maggie says to come up with solutions and Cameron says they can cobble something together. Cameron, Linus and Camille get to work. Kirsten tells Cameron something odd happened in the stitch. She says she saw something that didn’t make sense. She says she’s seeing things out of place in a person’s memory and now in more than one person. She asks if he remembers Peter the bomber. She says she saw a teddy bear in his memories. She says the same bear was in Justin’s memory.

Cameron says maybe it’s her memory and not either of the stitch people’s. She says she doesn’t remember having a bear like that and doesn’t remember anything before her dad ditched her with Ed Clark. She asks why the memories now and he says maybe it’s because of the stitches. She tells him about the photo with the word remember on it. Cameron asks remember what. Kirsten walks out to think about it and goes downstairs.

She looks at crime scene photos from Ed’s place and notices the K encyclopedia volume is missing. She gets a nonsensical text then looks at the floppy disk. She thinks back to playing on a computer when she was little and Ed says time is up. He says he has work to do and needs the computer. She’s playing chess. He says it’s been five minutes and she says she doesn’t know what that feels like. He shuts the computer off ending her game. She complains he had a garage full of computers.

She goes to the house and looks in the garage and pulls out an old computer and boots it up. She is working really fast with it. She has an old dot matrix printer and prints out the info she finds. She gets a strange look on her face. She goes to Cameron’s late at night and pounds on the door. She asks him what it looks like and he says it’s the stitch algorithm. She asks why she would take it from the lab and he says she doesn’t care about rules.

She says she got it off the floppy disk. He says someone from the Stitchers program gave it to Justin. Kirsten says she thinks it’s possible it could have been Cameron. He asks why he would leak information about his lab. Kirsten says he could have a reason and he asks how he knows it’s not her. She says she wouldn’t have told him about the leak if she was the leaker. She asks to see his phone and says she can prove it but he says you can’t prove a negative.

She demands the phone and reminds him that he doesn’t share anything with her. She says he kept secrets from him then asks if he leaked the algorithm. He says Maggie, Linus and Camille also have the information. She shows him a text and says she keeps getting spam messages. He says it’s residual emotions from the stitch. She demands the phone again and says he was home and couldn’t have met Justin. He now demands to see her phone and she says she disabled her tracking.

She says not many people know how to do it. He says he has to trust her and she thinks he’s being naïve. She then hacks into Linus’ lonely world to see if he’s the leaker. She says Linus has his computer on lock down. She says they have to find the #StitchersLeak. He asks how she’d feel if they hacked her stuff and she says impressed since her stuff is unhackable. Cameron caves and tells her Linus told her his password when he was drunk – mymotherwontruinmyliFe.

Kirsten is in and says they have keystroke biometrics. She says he’s been pulling all nighters online gaming. Cameron says he needs a GF. Kirsten says he knows and just locked him out. The phone rings and Linus asks why they were hacking. Kirsten says to clear him of treason. She tells Linus someone leaked the stitch lab algorithm to Justin. Linus says it couldn’t have been Camille. They ask why. Cameron asks if he was with her at the time. Linus gets nervous and weird.

Kirsten says to get Camille then says he’s wearing her sweatshirt. She demands Camille get on the video call and Camille asks if she can borrow her sweatshirt for a booty call last night. Kirsten says that means Maggie is the leaker and they need to go to the lab. Cameron is freaked out about Camille and Linus and says it’s awkward for work. She says Camille is an adult sometimes and they can handle it. He asks if she’s okay with coworkers dating. She says yes but not Linus wearing her sweatshirt.

They head to the lab and meet Linus and Camille. They are ready to confront Maggie. She gets out of her car and says there’s something she needs to tell them but then a shot rings out and Maggie goes down.

They run to check on Maggie but she says she’s fine. Maggie says not to call 911. Kirsten runs off towards the shooter. Cameron chases her and asks what’s going on. In the lab, Ayo gives Maggie some first aid for her graze. Ayo says she’ll be fine. Maggie tells Kirsten and Cameron they were reckless running off. Kirsten says that was on Justin’s desk and says Maggie is the only possible leak source left. She asks if she leaked it.

Maggie asks Linus if he remembered solving a math problem to get recruited. Then she says Cameron was choking on his silver spoon until she came along and says Camille was a lackluster PhD student. Camille says she’s nasty when she gets shot. Maggie says she has spent two decades building this program and says she would never risk it. She says she was having breakfast with Leslie Turner when it was leaked. She tells them to go find the source of the leak and the SOB who shot her too.

They walk out duly chastised. Downstairs, Camille tells Linus they need to be just friends and he asks with benefits. Kirsten walks up and says no one inside the lab could have leaked it. They checked everyone even those without access or clearance. Cameron says the algorithm only exists in hard copy in the lab. Cameron says the images were coming fast and says maybe Kirsten can do her brain timey thing to see if she missed something.

She spots a butterfly tattoo on someone’s wrist, broken watch, homeless guy in wheelchair then says that’s all it is. Cameron says he knows who did it. They show Maggie a stitch recording and zoom in on her wrist. It’s the tattoo from the stitch. Camille comes in and breaks the news that Marta woke up from her coma a week ago and checked herself out. Now they know Marta must be the leak source. Maggie says to find her from inside the lab so she doesn’t take more shots at them.

That’s right, #MartasBack. They check into her and her landlord and neighbors haven’t seen her and she hasn’t followed up with her doctors. Kirsten asks Cameron how close she was with Marta and he says they were getting closer then admits he used to visit her at the hospital often. Kirsten says stitching affects people and says it would affect Marta more since she’s not like her. He says she volunteered to be their test pilot.

Kirsten asks what her specialty was at the NSA and Cameron says Marta specialized in cryptography. She goes to her locker, gets out Catcher in the Rye then looks at the spam text she was sent. Marta mocked up the book and the key helps Kirsten decrypt the message she left for her in the book. It says you are in danger, trust no one. Kirsten looks around concerned then sends a text back asking if she can protect her. Marta texts back yes.

Kirsten leaves the lab on the sly. She heads to Chinatown where Marta finds her. She tells Kirsten she’ll be safe now. They walk off together. Cameron asks the others if they’ve seen Kirsten. They haven’t. She’s with Marta and they go back to her place. Marta turns up the radio really loud and looks around. She shushes Kirsten when she asks what she’s doing. Kirsten says no one is listening and says she put in an app to look for radio frequency pulses. She walks around with the app double checking.

She switches the stereo off and says it’s clear. Marta wants to see the app. She tells Kirsten she knew they were the same and tells Kirsten to pack. She says she’s going to take her somewhere she’ll be safe. Kirsten secretly dials Cameron and they hear Marta telling her the stitchers can’t be trusted. Marta asks how that lying bitch Maggie is and Kirsten says she doesn’t think she’s going to make it. Kirsten packs as Cameron tells the others to call Fisher.

Kirsten says she heard Marta stayed in too long and didn’t bounce. Marta asks if Cameron told her that and Marta says what she knows is real and says they’ll use her like they used her until something goes wrong then will try to make her disappear. Kirsten says the stitchers program was created to help people but Marta says they turned them into grave robbers. Kirsten says many of those graves shouldn’t have been filled. Marta says those are test runs for something bigger and says they don’t care about solving murders.

Kirsten asks test runs for what and Marta says she doesn’t know but says they have to go so they can both be safe. Cameron shows up and says it’s over, they know what he did. She pulls a gun on him then asks if he promised to take care of Kirsten like he said he’d take care of Marta. He says he knows he let Marta down. She’s crying and there are sirens coming. Kirsten tells her to get out now but Marta says she has to save Kirsten because they’re the only two people in the world who know.

The cops pull up outside and order her to come out and surrender. Her phone rings and she answers then asks – how did you get this number. Marta listens then smiles and says – I understand. She ends the call and Kirsten asks who that was. Marta tells Kirsten she’s going to be safe now. She heads for the door and Cameron tells her not to go out there with the gun. She thanks Cameron for the flowers and walks out with gun drawn to commit suicide by cop.

Cameron grabs Kirsten and pulls her to the floor as shots ring out when the cops take Marta down. Maggie, Camille and Linus are with them later and Maggie tells Cameron it’s not his fault. She says Marta violated protocol when she refused to bounce. He threatens to not come back to the lab but she says he’s the only one who can keep Kirsten safe. Kirsten asks Maggie if she called Marta and told her to do what she said. Cameron wants to stitch into Marta.

Maggie says no way and Kirsten says Maggie wants those secrets kept secret. Maggie says Cameron will not be able to handle plundering Marta’s brain. Maggie says trust me and Kirsten scoffs. Maggie says it’s up to her then leaves. In the lab, Cameron stands by Marta’s body in cold storage. He says he heard Maggie doesn’t want to stitch her. She asks if he’s okay and he says people only ask if you’re okay when they know you’re not. But then he says for right now, he is okay.

He says if he didn’t feel the loss it would mean he doesn’t care. Then he realizes what that could mean to Kirsten and then says he didn’t mean she doesn’t care. He says he wishes he was more like Kristen who could process things like this and move past them so fast. Maggie goes to her car and a man approaches her and says the program dodged a bullet. It’s Leslie Turner (hottie silver fox Oded Fehr!!). She says his phone call to Marta came at just the right time.

He says he appealed to her sensibilities and says Marta was a good soldier who knew what she had to do to protect Kirsten. Maggie says she lied to her team and told them Justin died of a heart attack. She says he killed Justin just to stitch into him. He says they had good intel about the leaked information he had. She says he knew it was Marta but he says he didn’t and there wasn’t another way. He says Justin was former CIA and wouldn’t crack even under torture.

Leslie says the lab, stitchers program and all of them would have been gone for good and all their tech in the wrong hangs. He says he wasn’t going to let that happen. Maggie says Kirsten is smart and asks what she’s supposed to tell her when she asks what the $8 billion program is really designed to do. Leslie says tell her anything you want unless it’s the truth.
