Tonight’s episode of Suits kicks off with Mike getting dressed for work – he asks Rachel for advice on his tie. She announces she would “rather tie him up with it” and they fall in to bed together. Rachel admits that she feels like a weight had been lifted off their chests ever since he made up with Louis. The phone rings and interrupts them, Mike is shocked when Professor Gerard is on the other end and orders him to meet him right now. Mike rushes to meet up with Gerard, he tells Mike that he received a phone call from an employee at the railroad – the employee told him that he “knows the real reason for the crash.” Gerard wants Mike to get Harvey to look in to it, he reveals that he knows Mike didn’t go to law school.

At the office, Jeff asks Jessica to sign off on his vacation time to go to Paris. He announces that he is taking Jessica with him, and Harvey has already agreed to cover her workload while they are gone. Jessica is a little put off, she tells him that she will think about it. Jeff teases her no to take too long or else he will find someone else to take to France with him.

Mike arrives at work, and informs Harvey that he is taking Gerard’s case for him. Harvey tells him that corporations don’t appreciate shakedowns, and he needs to refer him to a different firm. Mike informs Harvey that he knows Gerard knows his secret, and he is taking the case regardless of what he says. He knows innocent people were killed in the crash – and if it was a cover up, he wants to get to the bottom of the real reason behind the crash. Jessica visits Harvey, and wants to know why he agreed to cover for her while she is on vacation. Harvey insists that it was innocent, and he thinks that she deserves a vacation. He doesn’t want Jessica to make the same mistake that he made for Scotty.

Louis arrives at the office, and he is livid when he walks past the receptionist and she is answering the phone saying “Pearson & Specter” instead of “Pearson, Specter, Litt.” Rachel informs Louis that it isn’t that serious and it is standard procedure for receptionists to shorten the name of the firm when they are answering the phone. Rachel changes the subject and thanks Louis for forgiving Mike – it means a lot to her. Louis can’t concentrate though, he is still worried about the receptionist, Rachel encourages him to “just let it go.”

Donna tells Harvey that she set up a meeting for him with Jeffrey Dunder, he heard that they are taking a “whistle blower case” and he wants them to drop it. Harvey tells Donna not to worry about it and says that he will take care of Dunder. Meanwhile, Mike is meeting with the employee that called Gerard. The employee says that the crash occurred because all of the heat-sensors on the train failed – and he had warned the bosses that the sensors were all bad, but they ignored him. The employee informs Mike that he is not the only guy in the company that knew about the sensors, he gives Mike a memo and an email confirming that the powers that be already knew about the faulty sensors and ignored them.

Mike shows Harvey the proof that the railway covered up the faulty heat-sensors and it was their fault the train cashed. He tells Harvey that he is asking for $40 Million, and for the railway to publicly take responsibility and accept what they did. Harvey tells Mike that he is making a mistake and he could get ten times that if he seals the case. Mike orders Harvey to stay out of his case, and says that dozens of innocent people died and the railway needs to take responsibility, he refuses to let them just sweep it under the rug.

Donna intercepts Harvey in his office and tries to stop him from crashing Mike’s meeting, she says it is time for him to let Mike be his own man. Harvey argues that he is going to take the whole firm down with him because he is identifying the Railways with his parents’ accident. Meanwhile, Louis is still throwing a fit over the receptionist not saying his name when he answers the phone. He orders Rachel to fire the receptionist Elise. Rachel reveals that she can’t fire Elise, because Elise says that Louis is stalking her and calls her phone 50 times a day.

Louis heads to Jessica’s office and rants that he needs respect as a partner and they have to fire all of the support staff because they don’t say his name when they answer the phone. He thinks that they have been specifically ordered not to say his name, and he thinks they were paid off. Jessica says that Louis is being insane, and she will get them to say his name. Afterwards Jessica heads to Jeff’s office and tells him that she knows he paid off the receptionists. She wants Jeff to bury the hatchet, he rants that he hates Louis for blackmailing Jessica.

Mike heads to his meeting with the railway’s lawyer, she says that they aren’t admitting anything or paying anything. She promotes a test proving that the railway tested the heat sensors and they were working properly. Apparently the employee Joe Henderson is a pro at shaking down companies, she shows Mike copies of his last four lawsuits. Mike heads to the shop where Joe works and is screaming at him, Joe argues that his lawsuits were supposed to be sealed. Joe sneers that what he told Mike is true. Mike produces the report that the lawyer gave him on the sensors, and Joe says that it is “bullshit.” Mike snaps that he has no credibility left and storms out.

Jeff stops by Louis’s office, Louis thinks that he is going to hit him. Instead Jeff picks up the phone and calls the front desk, the receptionist answers and says Louis’s name. Louis realizes that Jeff is the one that paid them off. Jeff lies and tells Louis that he respects him and shakes his hand congratulates him, he even agrees to get drinks later with Louis.

Rachel stops by the library where Mike has been working for seven hours. She argues that he needs a break, Mike can’t stop working because he doesn’t want Harvey to find out that he screwed up and Joe Henderson was just shaking down the company. Rachel warns him that he should tell Harvey before he hears it from someone else. Meanwhile upstairs Jessica is in Harvey’s office, she wants him to put the breaks on Mike’s “whistle-blowing case.” Harvey refuses and says that he trusts Mike and she should too.

Later that night Mike stops Harvey’s apartment and fills him in on the case, he confesses that Joe made four other lawsuits against big companies in the last six years. Harvey is furious and says he is “pulling the plug.” Mike rants that Joe is telling the truth and he believes him. He begs Harvey to give him a chance – Harvey caves and gives him 24 hours.

Donna checks in on Mike at the office the next day and he has been up all night working on the case. He fills Donna in on the details, and confesses that he is stuck. He needs a subpoena to find the paper trail proving that the railroad fized the sensors after the accident. Mike kicks Donna out of his office and says that if she can’t help him, then she needs to get out so that he can work. Donna goes to the rail way office and lies to the receptionist and says she is with the National Transportation Safety Board, the receptionist gives her copies of their last six months worth of maintenance orders. She gives the papers to Mike, but he argues that he can’t use them because she obtained them illegally and it is inadmissible in court. Donna tells Mike that it is his job to figure out how he can use them.

Jeff visits Jessica in her office, and she is thrilled that Jeff made amends with Louis. She thanks him for patching things up. Jeff tells her that he would do anything for “the woman that he loves,” and walks out leaving Jessica shocked.

Mike shows Harvey the documents that he got illegally proving that Liberty Rail lied and they are responsible for the crash. Harvey agrees to help Mike catch them lying in a deposition, and orders Donna to call Liberty Rail and set up the meeting. Harvey and Mike meet up with the Liberty Rail lawyer, they question MCentire about when the heat sensors were repaired. He says that they replaced them two years ago, and they weren’t set to be repaired for another three years. Harvey reveals that he knows they just replaced them six months ago and shows him the work orders. The lawyer kicks them out and says that she needs to speak to her client, before Harvey and Mike leave Harvey orders the lawyer to cut a check and issue a public apology.

That night Jeff heads out to drinks with Louis, they bond and gossip about Jessica and how she drinks Miller Lite when she is watching football. Jeff says that he almost feels bad about paying the receptionists to not say his name, Louis tells him there is no need to apologize – it was a good prank. Harvey stops by Jessica’s office and boasts about taking down Liberty Rail. Jessica interrupts him, she says that she knows he told Scotty about Mike Ross – and she needs to know how he did it because she wants to tell Jeff the truth too. Harvey can tell that Jeff just told Jessica he loved her. Rachel pays Donna a visit before she leaves work and thanks her for saving Mike’s case – she tells Donna that she is a super hero.

Harvey gets a phone call from Liberty Rail, she asks him out for drinks and he thinks she is coming on to him. He arrives and she shows him a video of Donna illegally getting the documents, she informs Harvey there will be no settlement and tomorrow she is sending the video to the district attorney.

THE END!
