Before college is over in a seemingly blink of an eye, Daphne’s friends want her to at least enjoy her time there. So they’ve all told her at one time or another that she needs to lighten up. And on tonight’s all new episode of “Switched at Birth” she’s thinking of taking their advice.

Her roommate Ivy mentioned “Rush Week” and has also expressed interest in eventually joining one of the sororities. So Daphne went with her when she was looking around one day and when she saw met a few people – joining a sorority suddenly didn’t seem like such a bad idea. And, as it turns out, it could even help her with her Pre-Med studies.

Sororities can be a sisterhood. They can be someone to turn to or someone that could possible still have their old test results from when they took several Pre-Med classes. So Daphne wanted to join, but impressing people was kind of difficult for her.

Apparently, Daphne can overshare when she becomes too nervous so after an interview she had no idea if she helped her cause or weirded out her interviewer with talks of being switched at birth.

And Daphne isn’t the only one finding difficult adjusting to a new life. Mary-Beth it seems didn’t know how she’d fit into Travis’s new life as a baseball star so she started to ignore him in the hopes their relationship would just fade out. But Bay refused to let their relationship die.

Her job with the city was stalled because of the red tape involved so while she didn’t have anything planned – her father asked her if she would help him out during baseball practice. So she was there when Travis appeared to be out of it on the field. And once he had explained to her his problems with Mary-Beth, Bay told him she would try to help.

And, indeed, she did try. However her actions to get them back together had more to do with Emmett than it had with her friends’ happiness.

Emmett hasn’t really called and the one time he did – it was by accident. So technically, Bay doesn’t know where their relationship stands and that’s why she hated seeing Travis so hurt. Travis really cares about Mary-Beth and if it wasn’t for her insecurities then she would see that.

But all she does see is the Spirit Girls that hangs around the baseball team. Those girls are skinnier than she is and she finds them also prettier than she is. So she lets her jealousy get in the way. And she doesn’t like what it’s turning her into.

Travis, for his part, attempted to be the supportive boyfriend he thought she needed yet that didn’t seem to work either. Once Mary-Beth had made her choice, she knew she didn’t want to be involved with Travis anymore. So their relationship came to a natural conclusion and because Travis had missed practice in order to try again with his girlfriend – he was then benched from the next baseball game by John.

Though John was more disappointed in what Bay did than he was in Travis. After all, it was Bay he had asked to help him and it was Bay that had lied to him. So her betrayal cut him deeper.

And Bay, for her part, then tried once again to fix everything. Yet she finally realized in the end that she couldn’t force Mary-Beth and Travis to be together. Mary-Beth unfortunately had to pop that bubble though she did later cushion the blow when she told Bay there still a chance for her and Emmett.

And as for Daphne, she didn’t get into the sorority she wanted and that was because she tried too hard in the interview. Her friend on the other hand got in but not her. So, instead of wallowing (which she did enough of in the beginning), she decided to go hang out with Travis and her old friends. Travis definitely needed the cheering up.

His little stunt had cost his team the game and John was kind of counting on it in order to secure the coaching job for himself.

Hence John wasn’t in the greatest of moods when he later ran into Bay, but she did apologize to him for not having his back and she was even helping out with the equipment. So her father did come to appreciate her. Although, it doesn’t look like she’s planning on sticking around for long – Bay eventually told her dad that she’s going out to California to see Emmett. And who knows if she’ll come back.

She wants to take a risk in her relationship and see if it will work but hopefully it won’t end like Toby’s. Toby asked his girlfriend to move in and she ended up confessing to having feelings for someone else.

THE END!
