#TalkingDead tonight has guests Kevin Smith and Paul Bettany from Age of Ultron. Chris Hardwick says Carol in the wolves clothing was great and he wonders if the wolves will come back or the herd will head back. Katelyn Nacon will be on later. Paul says this season has something for everyone – he says it has gore but is also sophisticated. He says if losing your humanity is the cost of saving your loved ones, you become part of what you’re fighting.

Kevin says he thought last week’s episode would be his favorite – the black and white – then calls it Walking Clerks. Kevin says JSS is one of his top four ever and one of his top 20 ever. He says the scene with Carol watching Shelly smoke then getting butchered was great. He says all the heroes are away so the secondary cast had to fight. He says Jennifer Lynch did a great directing it. Kevin says it’s great the no one they care about got killed even though a lot got butchered.

Chris says he thought it was going to be a slow episode then it was like oh. Kevin says it’s like getting oral sex, finishing, then the person doesn’t stop and says it was relentlessly uncomfortable. Chris says he’s never had that luxury problem and good for him. Kevin says put that one a poster and Chris says EW could say tonight’s episode is like receiving oral that won’t stop. Paul says he’s so terrified of Carol but he loves her and when she has her oven mitts on, she’s like Lucretia Borgia.

He says she had no time for Gabriel. Chris says she’s a master of disguise and has done it time and again. Chris asks about her Suzy homemaker cover being blown. Kevin says she’s always lying in wait and is the character that has grown the most from season one and is a core player and is even more ready than Rick. He says that’s typical Carol and says no one is left that didn’t know she’s a badass. Everyone who knew about her cover is now dead and she even finished one off. Chris says Carol broke at the end.

Chris says she told Pete’s kid to just get over it but then she seemed effected by the end. Chris asks how Pete’s kids will do after losing him. Paul says a kid growing up in the zombie apocalypse, you have a skewed idea of what damage is and Sam is young enough to bounce back. He says Ron is f-d. The first poll is Carol’s favorite disguise: Suzy Homemaker, Wolf Getup or Terminus Ponchos. Kevin says he likes the Wolf burkha of death. The poll shows 68% choose the wolf and Suzy Homemaker is last.

Kevin says this is someone who was a married mom and Kevin says his mom likes Carol on the show and says she’s lying in wait, takes off the apron and brings out the cleaver. Now it’s the In Memoriam. We say a goodbye to… Honking Walker, This Guy is On Fire, Enid’s parents, the Turtle, the wolves, some unlucky Alexandrians, and Mrs Neudermeyer. The RIP says, guess she’s not getting that pasta maker.

Next is Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie) who says she was excited when she read the scene where she got to attack the invader and be mama bear. She says it was the first time she got bloody and was worried it would give her nightmares. She says filming the scene was really something. Chris says the floor was sticky with blood when they filmed it. Twitter comments says they don’t need a Ricktatorship, but a Carol Kingdom.

Chris asks Paul about Jessie attacking the wolf lady so brutally. Paul says when you have children, you realize you could murder for them when you weren’t before. He says she could be a proto-Carol. Chris then asks about the wolves. Kevin says they talked about that last season and have seen a little then they launched and he was happy to see it since he didn’t know where they were going and it lit the fire for the season. Chris asks what they want. Kevin says it sounds cultish.

He says they said “you’re not supposed to be here” and it seems like a cult. Chris says the horn from the last episode was the truck and there was time jumping – this was while the other group was at the quarry. Paul says he didn’t realize that at first and thought there would be a hard cut to explain it then there was Enid’s story and then bang back into Alexandria. Chris says Katelyn was great then asks if she’s part of a wolf. Kevin says no but she knows about them and is just a survivor. He says he loves JSS.

He says Waking Dead does a great job of threading the needle and says I am going to use that as personal philosophy and get it tattooed on him somewhere. Chris says Enid needed a mantra to survive when she was alone. Kevin says it could be JKT – just keep eating turtles. He says the turtle was on screen longer than some Alexandrians and jokes that he was invested in its story.

Now it’s time for the live quiz – answers at the end of this post.
Question #1 Which recipe does one of Carol’s friends call a miracle? Beer can chicken, cola canned ham or coffee can bread.
Question #2 Why does Denise say she was unable to become a surgeon? Shaky hands, scared of blood, and panic attacks.
Question #3 What is the name of the Wolf whose outfit Carols teals? Weevil, aphid or ladybug.

Producer Denise Huth says she loves Enid’s character and says they knew she had a backstory to get there and says it was fun to understand where she came from and get a sense of who she is and what she did to survive. Chris says Katelyn Nacon is there and she says it’s her first talk show or anything. Chris says people have been mystified about Enid. She says she didn’t watch the show before she got onto it. She says she saw the horse get ripped apart then decided not to watch.

She says she cried for an hour when she got the part because it was her first big thing. She’s from Georgia. Chris says no turtles were harmed in the making of this. Enid says the shell was Styrofoam and they put chicken soaked in mint blood and she says she couldn’t eat chicken for a couple of weeks after this. Chris asks how long Enid was on her own and she says just a week or two.

She says enough to where she got into survival instincts. Chris asks if she connected with that and says she went from being a normal teenager to living like an animal and eating a turtle out of the shell. She says she was told to eat the turtle like the walker was eating her parents to show the contrast. Kevin says she was great in the opening doing it all with no dialogue. Paul says it was beautiful work. Chris asks about JSS. She says in her head it was something she thinks her parents told her that a lot.

She says then it became a motto after her parents died to keep her alive. Chris says it would be hard for her to trust and Katelyn says she doesn’t want to get close to anyone emotionally and then to lose them again. She says she built up walls and is closed off. Chris asks about her saying the wolves are just people and Katelyn says anyone can be a wolf – you are just at that point or haven’t reached it yet and she’s seen so much bad stuff she knows anyone can turn into a wolf.

Chris says she’s insightful then asks about her goodbye to Carl. She says she didn’t get to say goodbye to her parents and has a connection to Carl so wants to say goodbye since she didn’t get to say it to her parents.

Chris asks about the kids in that world. Katelyn says they will adapt. She says teens are still learning about the world so could be more adaptable. Chris says he thinks she would be the one of the four of them to survive. Kevin says he definitely would not eat a turtle. Now a look inside tonight’s episode…

The actors playing the wolves were told to be as mean as possible. The director hand selected specific weapons for them to use. The wolves attack played out in real time lasting 45 minutes. It was the length of time it too Carol’s casserole to bake. Melissa McBride says this episode was intense with the horrific killings by the wolves. Lennie James (Morgan) says the W is about them being a wolf and they are a real pack. The costume designer says they don’t belong in Alexandria. Carol says at least the walkers don’t have a conscience and aren’t doing this knowingly.

Chris calls a fan up to ask a question. He asks Katelyn if she could only save one person, would she save Ron or Carl. She says Carl can handle himself so she would help out Ron. Chris then gives him a present and hands him a pasta maker. Chris asks Kevin who was more terrified – Denise or Eugene. Kevin says Denise and says he loves the actress but loved Eugene saying she doesn’t want to be a coward. Paul says he’s scared that Denise and Eugene would get romantic and have the most anxious kid ever.

Chris asks Katelyn why Enid has every key in Alexandria and says she knew it wasn’t going to last so was making escape plans and keys help with that. Chris asks how she could feel at home somewhere. Katelyn says Enid never could and says she would have to find a place like what she felt with her parents but she doesn’t want that. Chris takes a call and the caller asks who would win a fight between Morgan or Carol. Kevin says Carol because she wouldn’t play soft.

Chris says it would be like the scene from Raiders where Indiana shot the guy with the sword. Paul and Katelyn say Carol would win. Chris asks Paul whose philosophy is better Rick or Morgan. Paul says Rick is turning into something scary and Morgan is trying to stay engaged with the world so he chooses Morgan. Kevin says based on the edit, did Morgan kill the wolf at the end. Chris says he thinks he did kill him. Kevin says he wasn’t sure if he killed him. Chris says he was apologizing like a Canadian.

Now a poll. Who is more responsible for the wolf attack? Aaron or Morgan. It was Aaron’s that found the bag of photos but Morgan had a chance to kill them. Enid says it depends on when they found the bag – before or after they met Morgan. 92% of people say it was Aaron’s fault. Chris says if Morgan had killed them it wouldn’t be an issue but Kevin says that was not all the wolves he could have killed, just a few. Kevin says it’s like he lost the plans for the Death Star.

Katelyn gets a question about Enid’s relationship with Carl. She says it was genuine and that was part of why she left because she can’t go through loss again. There’s another question from a fan asking why Rick has to keep explaining to the people of Alexandria how the world is before they get it. Kevin says after this, they should get it. Chris says Deanna has had a bad couple of days and will likely get it. Another asks for Paul to use his Jarvis voice and talk about Walkers.

He does it and Chris goes total fan boy. A fan asks Katelyn about the tree scene with Carl. She says it was awkward but she’s an awkward person anyway. She says the enclosed space would be awkward and says they just stood there and talked between takes. Chris says it’s hard for a newer character to come in and get near but fans embraced her on the show. She says it’s great to have fan support. Next is a look at fan art and cosplay photos. They show cosplay of the week and it’s a Rick costume.

Another poll is should Carol: blow up the megaherd, fnalyl kiss Darryl or drop the mic since she’s done it all. 64% say kiss Darryl. Kevin says he wants to see Darryl kiss Rick. Now a look at next week’s episode. We see Rick running down the road top speed. Glenn radios and tells him where they are in a town. Rick takes out several walkers on the road. Glenn says he’ll light a signal fire to tell him if they’re on the way. Rick got cut fighting with them. Chris asks if they saw it and says everyone has it anyway.

Katelyn says she hopes Enid will be back and if they do, they may be pleasantly surprised. That’s the end of those show. Next week is Yvette Nicole Brown and Damon Lindelof.
