Noah’s second book was an actual success. In fact the rewrite seems to have helped it and the only one that doesn’t know or at least didn’t let on that they knew her character had been murdered in the end was Alison.

Then again, after the first time she took a peak, Noah had assured her that her characters had a happy ending and that’s the story that Alison wanted to believe in. So Alison kind of lived her life in a bubble. She had pretty much given up working in order to focus on her pregnancy and the only time she left the new apartment was when she had to be on Noah’s arm at some party or another.

Though even then Noah’s agent didn’t want her speaking with anyone. So Alison was pretty much on her own a lot and was grateful for the times she got to be with Noah and friends. And, well, that’s why Thanksgiving was such a big deal for her.

Family and friends were coming over and Alison wanted to show them that everything had worked out in the end. Yet Alison’s mother didn’t like the sacrifices that Alison had to make in order to please Noah. One of the sacrifices being the fact she put up her inheritance for sale.

Apparently the reason Alison had inherited her grandparents’ house on Montauk to begin with was because her mother wanted her to have some security in life. You know in case she needed a home of her own. But Alison has now sold that house so that her new family could afford to live in Noah’s expensive apartment that they didn’t exactly need.

So Athena was upset. Although she later did her best to hide it and just try to be there for her daughter. Even when she got to see for herself how quick Noah was to let Alison down.

However Thanksgiving was an overall bust. Alison had to be the one to reach her own boiling point and that happened after Noah had been advised to pretend his work of fiction was based off of his relationship with Alison. And as it turns out Alison did read the book but she hadn’t wanted Noah to know about it.

She had simply wanted to pretend that their characters really did get their happy ending.

But when Noah implied that the story including the ending was based off of them, Alison snapped at the dinner table. She felt that was the time to tell him that she did read the book and she asked if that’s how he truly saw her. Because there were certain events that she doesn’t recall or at most remembered differently.

So that led to this big fight that ended with Alison asking if Noah really wanted a life her. He said he did but the way he sometimes treats her and their expectant child had left her with some doubts. But if she’s that angry about the way he wrote about her – Cole should have been twice as bad.

Yet Cole didn’t read the book when it first came. He didn’t even want to acknowledge it but one day an old friend/ enemy had goaded him about the book so Cole read it. And he was left shocked by what he thought was Noah’s audacity.

It seems Noah had written about Cole’s family even going back several generations and had made several implications that Cole felt was disrespectful. So Cole finally went to go see his family at their new house and he wanted them to know what Noah had wrote. However there was a kicker.

The entire story that Noah had written about like how Cole’s grandfather had drowned his wife bastard son which then started a feud with her lover turned out to be true.

And Cole’s mother had known all about it. She said that she had wanted to protect her kids from the truth and that’s why she hadn’t told them the story. Yet she had also gone to say that the reason she didn’t want her kids to know about how ugly the past was because she felt as if the family had been cursed since then and that’s why none of her grandchildren have ever survived.

So that’s when Cole ran out there but before he could fully leave the family behind – he spotted Whitney attempting to get Scotty’s attention. And managed to divert her while his brother made an escape.

And though he didn’t feel like it, Cole gave Whitney a ride to her dad’s.

But fast-forward to the present and Noah’s lawyer received good information. He was told Alison and Scotty had been arguing on the night Scotty was murdered. And that Scotty had been overheard saying “that’s our baby”.

THE END!
