Tonight on CBS the Emmy award winning show The Amazing Race hosted by Phil Keoghan returns for yet another exciting episode in an all new Friday April 17, season 26 episode 7 called Get in “Back in Business; Moment of Truth (Namibia)” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, the race continues in Namibia where a flat tire deflates one team’s hope of leading the pack. The racers also face a Double U-Turn.

The #AmazingRace begins in Monaco with the six remaining teams. Laura and Tyler are out on their #DateNight. Hayley and Blair are the first to leave since they won the last leg and get instructions to fly 10 hours to Namibia and then have to get on a bush plane. Aly and Steve leave less than 10 minutes after the 1st place team. Mike and Rochelle leave less than five minutes after them then Matt and Ashley within moments. Laura and Tyler leave last but all within 30 minutes of each other. The final six are three blind date teams and three existing couples.
Everyone gets on the same flight to Namibia. Once they land, it’s a scramble. They each pick a chauffeur. Hayley is already nagging Blair because he wanted more comfortable seats that weren’t close to the front. Hayley is crushing on their bush plane pilot Hagen. That calms her down. The bush planes start and Aly & Steve leave in first place. Jelani and Jenny leave next then Matt and Ashley in 3rd. Laura and Tyler move into 4th. Mike and Rochelle in 5th and Hayley and Blair in 6th. She keeps talking about how hot the pilot is but Blair doesn’t seem to care.
The planes are all flying within sight of each other. They touch down out in the bush and now have to get into an SUV and drive themselves to Bushmen Village and have to pick up a salt lick along the way. Laura and Tyler pick up the date night clue. Matt and Ashley wonder what a salt lick is but figure it out. Laura and Tyler drove past the salt lick stand without stopping. Aly and Steve make it to the village and Aly cracks open an egg that says she has to help the locals build a grass hut. This #RoadBlock is called “Stick around.” Jelani and Jenny show up and he takes on the challenge.
Matt takes on the challenge for their team. Mike and Rochelle are upset that they have to drive a stick shift again and they can’t even get the SUV cranked. Hayley thanks the pilot several times and can’t stop talking about how cute he was. Hayley and Blair leave before Mike and Rochelle who just can’t crank the car. Rochelle tries and finds out he was using the wrong key. Laura and Tyler show up and then Hayley and Blair show up and are told they missed the salt lick. Tyler hears and tells Laura to find out if they were supposed to already get the salt lick.
Tyler and Laura leave to go get the salt lick. Hayley and Blair grab theirs and are happy to see that Tyler and Laura also had to backtrack. Mike and Rochelle finally make it there and she’s building the hut. Hayley is happily playing with village babies. Tyler seems to be pulling ahead of the others. Tyler finishes first and they are told to head to Ranger Headquarters to get their next clue. Matt and Ashley take 2nd place. Tyler and Laura get a #Detour called Track or Pack once they submit their salt lick. They have to work with wild dogs or elephants.
They have to use technology to track and locate an elephant or they have to feed wild dogs with wildebeest meat. Laura and Tyler pick the wild dogs. Matt and Ashley do too. Jelani and Jenny are in 3rd and also choose the dogs. Jelani wonders if they should use their express pass but they decide not to. Aly and Steve show up and are told they have to do the elephant challenge since the dogs are filled up. Blair and Rochelle are still working on their huts. Blair finished up and they head out in 5th. That puts Mike and Rochelle in last place again.
Hayley and Blair show up to Ranger Headquarters and are told they have to do track. Laura and Tyler are first done with their chopped meat and hop in a truck to go feed the wild dogs. Matt and Ashley leave next then Jelani and Jenny. Rochelle gets encouragement from the bushmen and dance while she finishes her hut. They get the clue and head out in last place. The dogs rush out when they see the food trucks. Matt asks what happens if they jump down and the rangers tell him he would get eaten. They throw out all their meat.
Laura and Tyler finish first and are told to go to Spitzkoppe, the next pit stop. It’s an ancient landmark. Matt and Ashley finish and are off. Jelani and Jenny head out next. Mike and Rochelle make it to the Ranger Headquarters and are able to get pack because the others have all left. Matt and Ashley are able to get a lead on Laura and Tyler. Mike and Rochelle get into the truck and head off to feed the dogs. Hayley is whining at Blair about him not letting her help. They get into yet another argument. Mike and Rochelle move into 4th because they were able to get the dog detour.
Aly and Steve spot the elephant and get their clue which puts them in 5th place as of now. Hayley and Blair are languishing in last place still looking for their elephant. Aly and Steve let their map fly out of the Jeep and have to stop. Hayley and Blair spot their elephant and get their clue. They’re in last place. Matt and Ashley see that the others have stopped and they panic thinking they did something wrong. They got out and ran back and that lets everyone catch up because they weren’t confident in what they were doing. Aly tells Steve he’s driving too far to the left and he doesn’t correct and he gets a flat.
He says they just need to change it. Hayley and Blair see them and pass them by. That puts Aly and Steve in last place. Laura and Tyler go around Matt and Ashley when they stop to ask for directions. Mike and Rochelle worry that they’re lost. Aly and Steve get their tire changed and head out. Laura and Tyler spot Phil and try to figure out how to get to him. Matt and Ashley show up and take off running. Tyler says he can see Phil and tells her to come on.
Matt and Ashley take a more daring rock climbing type approach and make it to Phil first. Laura and Tyler make it there in second place. Matt and Ashley won $5,000 each for this leg of the race. Hayley and Blair make the turn to the camp next to take 3rd. Blair tells Phil that Hayley was crushing on the pilot and Blair says he’s fine with that so it takes the focus off of her screaming at him. Jelani and Jenny make it there in 4th place. It’s down to Mike and Rochelle and Aly and Steve. Mike and Rochelle make it there in 5th place – that puts the Olympians in last place. They started in first and fell to last but it’s a non-elimination leg.
The group finds a set of tents set up for them. They all ooh and aah over the setting sun in the distance. Matt and Ashley leave before 7 am looking for a German area of Namibia. Laura and Tyler leave just a minute later. They have a driver that will take them out. Matt and Ashley want to u-turn Jelani and Jenny. Rochelle says this experience has changed her outlook on the world and Mike says the world is so big and awesome.
Aly and Steve leave last more than an hour after the others. In Swakopmund, they head to a bookstore and have to look in a German language newspaper. Hayley and Blair ask a local to translate. The others go to the hotel across the street. The clue sends them to a skydiving place. Laura and Tyler and Matt and Ashley make it to the #Roadblock first. They have to do an airdrop where they track a case that was dropped from an airplane. They case holds the clue.
Laura takes off running as she marks the spot where she saw her box drop. Hayley is disappointed when she sees they don’t get to skydive. Hayley runs to chase her box down. Blair is happy that Hayley is miserable. Jelani and Jenny pick up a nail in the tire of their SUV. She begs the gas station attendants to fix the tire quickly. Laura finds theirs then Ashley gets theirs. Hayley is still looking. Looks like Aly and Steve missed the turn. Laura and Ashley then have to take their box and pick up a gnome.
Ashley waits on Laura. Hayley gets her box and also goes looking for her gnome. Matt and Ashley head out in 1st place to Snake Bend Pan. Laura and Tyler leave close after. Blair says they’re teaming up and he hopes they don’t u-turn he and Hayley. Mike and Rochelle see Hayley and Blair leaving that means they’re ahead of Jelani and Jenny. Mike chases the box and then Jelani heads out as well. Jelani finds his but Mike is still wandering then he gets his. Jelani quickly gets up the mountain and gets the gnome.
They see Aly and Steve show up and they hit the #SpeedBump. They have to make a toy out of repurposed soda cans. There are some kids there to help them. Steve builds his quickly but Aly is still tinkering with hers.

Matt and Ashley get to the #Detour and have to choose between dragging tires behind their truck to smooth out a five mile section of road or take on some sand skiing.
Matt and Ashley and choose skiing. Laura and Tyler go to do the road smoothing. Mike finally makes it back and he’s exhausted from running in the sun. Rochelle says she’s proud of him and is ready to let him meet her son and be part of their family. Mike says – finally! Aly finishes her toy and they are able to head off to the parachute drop activity. Steve goes to chase the dropped box. He’s lost track of it and Aly sees him running farther and farther away from the box.
Jenny is worried they’ll be u-turned. Hayley and Blair are also doing the road smoothing and he says leveling it is a metaphor for Hayley’s attitude. Ashley is stuck in the sand and can’t dig herself out. Laura and Tyler start their road smoothing then Hayley and Blair. Steve is still wandering but finally gets to it. He heads up the hill and snags their gnome and heads off. Aly says they’ve put themselves into a deep hole.
Hayley is nagging Blair and he’s getting annoyed. She tells Blair he hasn’t been the best of drivers and he tells her that he’s done. Matt and Ashley make it to the top of the mountain and are given a piece of cardboard to sled down on. They get their clue and are in 1st place. They are told to head down on foot to the U-Turn. They run over to it. Laura and Tyler get their clue and are in second. Jelani and Jenny use their express pass to skip the ski detour.
At the #Uturn, Matt and Ashley send Jenny and Jelani back and then Laura and Tyler U-turn Aly and Steve. They’re all running with their #RoamingGnome. Jenny and Jelani see the U-turn and have to go do the tire thing. The pit stop is at an oasis and they get to pick an animal with them. Hayley and Blair grab their clue and head off to the pit stop. Mike and Rochelle head over to the tire challenge. Aly and Steve get their clue to head to the next challenge.
Mike and Rochelle start pulling their tires and get them lined up quickly. He says he has the strongest girl in the race. Mike wonders if Jenny and Jelani got u-turned and says Jenny seems really high strung and says – poor Jelani. At the entrance to the oasis, Tyler has a zebra named Nora while Matt has a horned creature. They spot Phil up ahead and then the zebra starts getting frisky and tries to kick Tyler. Laura and Tyler take first place and win a trip for two to Queenstown, New Zealand.
Matt and Ashley are in second. Hayley and Blair show up in 3rd place leading a camel. Mike and Rochelle get their clue for the pit stop and head out followed by Jenny and Jelani. Mike says Jenny is mean and doesn’t want to be around when she sees Matt and Ashley. Aly and Steve get to the sand ski and start making their way up the hill. Mike and Rochelle choose a zebra and head out. Jenny chooses a camel and they head out.
Mike thinks it’s cool they’re walking a zebra in Africa. The animal kicks him and runs off. Rochelle says they should get a donkey. Jenny is trying to rush the camel. Mike is losing control of the donkey too and Mike and Rochelle fall into 4th place. Jelani and Jenny take 3rd place. Jenny says Matt and Ashley have no more u-turns left to play and they can now go after them. Aly and Steve see that they have to do the other challenge based on the u-turn and know they’re going to be eliminated.
They grab a camel and show up last to meet Phil. He tells them they’re last and they’ve been eliminated from the race. Aly says they should have won the whole thing but the other teams went after them. They head out with the camel joking that he’s their ride home.
