It’s the live finale of #CelebrityApprentice. We’re down to Leeza Gibbons and Geraldo Rivera as the final two celebrities. We see a rundown of the other celebrities that were fired before the finals. The final task was the Universal Orlando commercial to be presented at a red carpet event in New York City. We get a look back at the contestants working on this final challenge. We see that Leeza’s team was rock solid in Orlando, but Geraldo was his usual off-putting control freak self.

We see back to the last challenge in Orlando when Geraldo and Lorenzo are butting heads over the child actors. Geraldo is managing with an iron fist and not listening to anyone. Leeza’s team has the concept of dealing with an over-scheduling dad. Part of the problem with Leeza’s shoot is that Kevin Jonas is attracting too much attention. Kevin gets them to move on his command. They are ahead of the schedule so Leeza and Johnny go edit while Kevin and Brandi shoot without them.

Geraldo’s shoot centers on him and the kids – I think he’s missing out by not having parents and kids together for the shoot. Donald introduces Ivanka and Don Jr who are on stage with him. Geraldo’s shoot ends and it’s time to edit. Geraldo works on entertainment for the evening while the other three edit. He calls Tony Orlando (who nobody is going to know that’s younger than 45) and lines him up. Leeza works with the editors while Johnny hangs out.

Brandi and Kevin come back with footage completed and churros in hand. Kevin is very excited to be working toward knocking Geraldo off his pedestal. Geraldo’s team gets a look at the rough cut of the commercial and Ian agreed with me and says if he was in charge, it would have been family-centric. But, as usual, Geraldo made it all about himself and the mustache. (What a jerk). Leeza watches her ad and the team is pleased. Leeza says the commercial makes her want to go there.

Leeza wonders how much money Geraldo has raised and assume it’s in the $500k range. They all work hard to raise funds. Back to the live show, Donald brings out Keshia Knight Pulliam, Gilbert Gottfried, Jamie Anderson, Terrell Owens, Kate Gosselin and Kenya Moore. Donald asks Kenya if she’s a nice person and she says yes. He asks what happened and she says she tried her best and really wanted to win and then compliments Ivanka on her looks.

We now go to the red carpet event for Universal Orlando Resort and Ian talks about Geraldo being a dictator. There are Universal characters there and representatives for the two charities. She asks Gilbert Gottfried if he’s there for her or Geraldo and he says he came for the free food. A limo pulls up outside and Donald and his hair get out and come inside. Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee come through the crowd to kick off the event.

Team Geraldo takes the stage first and he introduces Vivica, Lorenzo and Ian. He then gives an intro for his commercial and it shows. It makes it look like young kids can take off and explore without their parents. Leeza thinks it’s too Geraldo heavy. (preaching to the choir) Then Geraldo introduces Tony Orlando who is older than dirt. Talk about living in the past. Tony talks about his disabled sister and how Geraldo’s charity impacted them. He then sings Tie a Yellow Ribbon (his early 70s hit).

Of course Geraldo has to be on the stage singing and can’t let his entertainer just perform because it’s all about him all the time. Leeza then takes the stage and thanks Donald for changing her life. She then talks about her charity that helps families dealing with a loved one with Alzheimer’s. She brings up her team and thanks them then introduces the commercial. Lorenzo really likes their commercial. The team takes the stage again and she shows a photo of her mom.

She talks about how her mom lost her memories due to Alzheimer’s and how her mom encouraged her to tell her story. Brandi is tearing up and says the ad tied in perfectly to her charity and creating memories for families. She then introduces Olivia Newton-John (still old school but much better known than Tony Orlando). Vivica loves ONJ and says it gave her a woman crush. She sings Magic and her voice still sounds good. Leeza says she gave her best and there was nothing else to give.

Back to the live portion, Trump says Geraldo and Leeza both did a great job. We see the two teams come into the boardroom to get results. Lorenzo says Geraldo did great and is a natural in front of the camera. He laughs about Geraldo mangling his starring show and then asks Ian if he minds Geraldo mispronouncing his name. Ian jokes and says to just call him Ian (pronounced ee-ann) from now. Vivica says Geraldo worked their nerves but the outcome as positive.

He asks Ian what he would have done differently. Ian says Geraldo is very driven and confident and always finds a way to survive. Ian mentions that Geraldo lost five in a row yet still made it to the finals. Ian says he really wanted Geraldo gone and laughs. He asks Geraldo who was outstanding on the project. Geraldo says he thought Trump was playing a trick on him but sending him Ian and Lorenzo since they had butted heads so many times but says it worked out well.

Brandi says she thinks Team Leeza one and says she’s the best Project Manager with zero ego. She says she always listens. Brandi says they all got along and says Kevin was born to be a director and they all worked well together. Kevin says he had wanted to be on Leeza’s team from the start so this was amazing. Johnny says they did a great job and says Leeza is tremendous to work with and they’re hoping she won seven tasks in a row which would be unprecedented.

Leeza says she enjoyed their commercial and says there was great production value but she doesn’t think he did better than her ad. Geraldo says he thinks he won this and says his presentation was more original. Ivanka says the Universal Executives like the theme of Geraldo’s ad and liked that they used celebrity in it. She says they thought the presentation was disjointed but didn’t see how the song tied to the presentation. She says they also didn’t like that the kids and adults were separated the whole time.

Don Jr says Leeza’s voice over was well liked. He says they liked that she included many different experiences and how the presentation tied to the charity fluidly and loved Olivia Newton-John singing. He says they would have liked to see more celebrity and didn’t think the storyline went far enough to engage the viewer. Now on to money and Trump says they each get to keep what they raised plus the winner gets $250k for their win.

Donald says the money wasn’t even close. Ivanka says Geraldo raised $146,000. Don Jr says Leeza raised $324,000. Bam! She more than doubled him. If Trump doesn’t give the win to her, he’s nuts. Leeza has raised a total of $464k for her charity and Geraldo has raised more than $700k total. Trump says they’re all winners and that’s why they brought them back then thanks the other celebs that came back for the finale.

Back to live, Donald introduces Johnny Damon, Lorenzo Lamas, Kevin Jonas, Brandi Glanville, Vivica Fox and Ian Ziering. Donald asks Ian if the men and women played differently and he says the women were more vicious. We see a flashback to Vivica’s lost phone drama. Live now, Donald tells Kenya to come clean and she pulls one out then says it’s hers. She continues to deny that she stole the phone and Donald says she didn’t do it.

Vivica says whenever Kenya starts with the hand gestures, she’s lying. Vivica says she did it and then he asks if Brandi did it and she says if it wasn’t Kenya, it was her hair and makeup people since they were the only ones allowed in the war room. Then they play a medley of Gilbert Gottfried’s antics including him calling Donald – Mein Fuhrer. Trump asks if Gilbert just gave up and he says he gave up because he’s going through menopause. TO says he really liked Gilbert.

Donald then introduces Geraldo and Leeza. Donald says he never thought Leeza was tough enough to make it this far. She says never to underestimate a woman with passion. Donald then says Geraldo attacked everyone and made a lot of enemies and asks how he got so far. Geraldo credits his fund raising for carrying him to the end. Donald plays a medley of Geraldo being a pushy pain the backside from day one.

Donald asks Kevin about him standing up to Geraldo and Kevin says Geraldo is an amazing competitor but Leeza should won. He says when it comes to it, Leeza had far more wins. Brandi says she adores Geraldo because they never worked together but says Leeza. Johnny says Leeza’s record clearly shows she won. Donald mentions how well Leeza lead and got along with everyone. She says she could cut out the crazy, drop the drama and stayed focused.

She then says the cast brought a lot of strength and talent. She says she has a lot of respect for Geraldo. Donald says Geraldo is a miserable guy who can’t play nice. Geraldo says it’s a competition and a TV show. Ivanka takes over and says it’s all about the charities She introduces Leeza’s Care Connection at St Joseph’s in LA. She says they take care of the caregivers that are dealing with loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s.

She calls the caregivers courageous and says she loves this work so much and says it gives her such a great sense of purpose. We see her telling some of the program participants that she won enough from the Budweiser to open another location in her home state of South Carolina. Leeza says she’s been so proud to honor her mother and says Geraldo should concede right now. She says she wants to be as courageous as her mom.

Ivanka says her mother would be proud and asks what she would do with the $250k. She says there are 95 million caregivers that need support. She says she would put it all right back into helping more people. Don Jr then introduces Geraldo’s charity Life’s WORC. It creates family centers for those with mental challenges. They show the center named after him – of course it’s about him. It’s a good cause, but he’s still a d-bag. The funds he’s won will go to build a family center for autism.

Don Jr says Geraldo seems to have a strong attachment to his charity. He says he grew up with this because he did his first expose on bad group homes since his 20s. Donald says he asked viewers to send in questions. Ivanka reads one off for Ian about the biggest lesson he learned there. He says he learned about persistence. Ivanka reads one for Kevin about being a successful entrepreneur. Kevin says it takes a lot of focus but is rewarding.

Ivanka then reads the last one for Vivica about why she didn’t fight harder. Vivica says she’s a realist and knows the best two are sitting at the table over there. Vivica says she’s proud of them and Trump says she’s a class act but he’s not gracious and would never say that. Then Donald brings out Melissa Rivers. Donald says they all loved her mom. Melissa says she’s okay now and that she and Cooper are doing great. Donald says Melissa and Cooper are all Joan ever talked about.

They play a tribute to Joan from the season she won and then her appearances from this season. Then there’s more of her from past seasons with Sinbad and then her calling Dennis Rodman the black Liberace. Lisa Rinna says how much she admires Joan. We then saw the finals when she beat Annie Duke. The audience is on their feet clapping in the salute to Joan. Donald asks Kenya who should won. She says Geraldo should win for winning more money.

Kate says she worked with both and says Geraldo. Vivica says Leeza should be the next female Celebrity Apprentice. Lorenzo talks about his charity that supports the troops as they transition back to civilian life. Gilbert says he thinks Donald should break down in tears and regret firing him and take it back. Gilbert says there’s no wrong choice. He says Geraldo is great and will tell you himself. He says Geraldo. Jamie says Leeza and says she’s cool, down to earth and nice.

Johnny says Leeza has been solid the entire time. Geraldo says he’s honored to compete with Leeza and calls her high-functioning and that draws some gasps from the crowd. Geraldo says Leeza is the safe choice and says he made for better TV. Donald says the winner of the final task was Leeza. He also says she raised a lot more money than Geraldo. Leeza says she played the game with a lot of integrity. She says she didn’t play it safe, she played strategically and says she was never in the board room.

She says Geraldo has been in the boardroom many times and she hasn’t been there once. She also says she pulled Geraldo out of his five challenge losing streak. She says she’s proud of her record and says she has great gratitude. She says she’s had her eyes on the prize the whole time and should be the Celebrity Apprentice. Donald says NBC just told him because of the great ratings, they are going to add a new season of Celebrity Apprentice.

Donald asks Ivanka for final thoughts. She says they’re both amazing so there’s no bad decision. Don Jr says he doesn’t envy his dad’s decision and says they’re both formidable and impressive. Donald says Geraldo is tough and smart and has done an amazing job in raising so much money for his charity. Then Donald says Leeza lead with kindness and he doesn’t see that in New York. He says she’s talented and a tremendous leader. Donald says the winner is Leeza Gibbons.

That was well done. I thought Donald was going to do something stupid again like he did when he robbed Penn Jillette and gave it to Trace Adkins (although I love me some Trace). The other celebs all run over to congratulate Leeza. She gives her hubby a big kiss as celebratory confetti rains down on them.

THE END!
