Hayley picks up Hope and comforts her. Elijah cooks breakfast for Hayley, a happy little family. He’s still struggling for control. Kol kisses Davina. Fin looks in the mirror as Mikael approaches. Rebekah’s body lies in state while she’s trapped in the house. Klaus says they finally defeated his mother. She sits in the crypt staring at the bag of blood tormented between dying or drinking. Klaus takes Cami to hide out with Hayley and Hope since Fin is after her for stabbing him.

Hayley comes out with the baby and Cami is floored. She thought Hope was dead. He tells her he’ll have to take the memory before she goes and she agrees. She goes to play with the little girl and says that she’s perfect. Klaus tells Cami he has to make New Orleans safe for Hope which means he has to deal with Fin. Cami says he’s going to be furious when he finds out he made Esther a vampire. Klaus says he and Hayley are going back to New Orleans and she’ll stay with Hope and Elijah.

He tells her Elijah is still suffering side effects from Esther’s torment. Elijah insists his cafe slaughter was a one time event. Klaus says Cami can help him. He also says Angelica Barker has to cut ties with that life so she can make it back to her old body. A man in the house where Rebekah is trapped force feeds something to her and shackles her to a bed. The place is crammed full of witches and other lost souls shambling about.

Fin rants to Mikael that Esther tried to show mercy to his siblings. Mikael tells him that was a mistake and says they will destroy them all together. Fin tells him he’s happy to hear that and says he can use his strength. In the Quarter, Hayley meets Jackson and asks if he’s ready to get hitched. He says it’s not that simple and is a mystical unification ceremony, not a trip to Vegas. He says they have to do this by the book. They need a shaman, have to go through trials and complete devotion rituals.

Hayley says it sounds intimate and he reminds her it’s a marriage. Jackson says he’s looking forward to getting to know her. The most influential wolves are there including Jerick, rounded up by Aiden. Then Marcel comes in with his vampire crew. Marcel and Jerick face off. Rebekah wakes and spits out the pull they tried to force feed her. She calls them amateurs. A girl is there and asks about her sister Rebekah. The girl says Esther body jumped her so she knows what can happen.

Rebekah closes the door and asks if she’s Cassie the harvest girl. She asks how you break out. Cassie says you can’t. Rebekah says someone must have gotten out and Cassie says – not alive. Kol is unpacking at the vampire lair when Klaus comes in. He says he has a gift for him to celebrate his return to the fold and offers him a spendy bottle of wine. Fin comes in and busts up the bottle and they agree that he looks peaky.

Fin asks where Esther is and Klaus says she’s tucked away safe where he’ll never find her. Fin says they’ll see how long the arrogance lasts. Hayley tells the wolves they can have freedom and Marcel says they’ll stand with them against the witches for a promise of peace after the wedding. Fin comes in starts trying to rile both sides up. He calls both species degenerate and says they can only have hatred and death between them. He does a little magic and locks them all into the compound.

He says after some time spent locked up together, they’ll come to see things as he does. He leaves them all there. Klaus tests the spell and Kol asks if they’re really trapped. Klaus tells him to fix it. Klaus says he may start looking appetizing to some other prisoners. Kol says he may need help. Marcel tells Gia to quit acting out and to not underestimate the wolves. He tells her to watch their guys to make sure no one starts any trouble. Hayley asks Marcel for any ideas to keep it under control.

He tosses her a bottle and says – drink and blow off some steam. Elijah tries to call Rebekah. Cami finds a bottle of hooch and offers Elijah a drink. He asks what then. He says before long, he’ll drink too much and bare his damaged soul. He says it’s an old trick. She says she’s more interested in forgetting her own problems than helping fix his. She says booze and board games is where she’s at now. She reads him a Trivial Pursuit question and he won’t answer so she asks about Hayley.

That gets his interest back on the booze and the game. He answers the question and pours a drink. Klaus asks Hayley if she’s worried about her wolves or Elijah. She tells him eww and she won’t talk about it. She asks if that’s obvious and he says they’re both glowing and he’s glad they gave into it finally. She says this family is weird enough without this. She looks at Jackson and Klaus asks if she’s feeling guilty wondering if she should tell Jackson things he doesn’t need to know.

Klaus says love doesn’t build the strongest foundations but the decency of merciful lies. Cassie takes Rebekah on a tour and tells her about the witches imprisoned there by Klaus and then the coven. Rebekah asks about those with the stars and Cassie says they call themselves the kindred and are into dark magic and decided they were in charge. Rebekah tells her they just need to work their own magic to send a little distress signal.

Davina shows up to meet Kol and test the magical barrier. He tells her it’s nasty. They touch it one on each side. They chant. The wolves and vamps watch with interest. Kol says the spell is locking them out and Davina says Fin must be channeling a dark object. Fin is using Mikael to channel the spell. He tells an unconscious Mikael they have no idea what they’re up against. Cami is speed reading trivia cards to Elijah who knows all the answers.

She laughs and asks how he knows all that. She slops some booze on Elijah’s sleeve and then takes note when he starts to freak out trying to clean it. She tries to snap him out of it and he acts a little nutty with a glare then tells her he’s not as fragile as Klaus thinks. Elijah takes a call thinking it’s Rebekah but it’s not. He calls Klaus and says Rebekah is not Angelica Barker – that he got a call from Angelica who’s still very much herself.

Kol comes to tel him they need some things from the Lycee and they need to get Fin out with a distraction. Kol tells Klaus to tell him where to find Esther. Hayley pulls Jackson into a room and says she wants to do this marriage right and wants to be honest with him. She says when she was gone, she was with Elijah. He says okay. She makes it clear she was with “with” Elijah. That takes him aback. He paces a bit and then asks if she’s in love with him.

Hayley just looks at him. He says he already knew it. Hayley says it doesn’t matter and says it’s not about them but about the wolves. He says she’s clearly seeing this as a sacrifice. Josh pulls Aiden aside for a kiss but Aiden says the wolves won’t accept this since the vampires made them suffer. Josh says he had nothing to do with this. Josh gets hits with a piece of magic and starts to go fuzzy. He looks at Aiden’s neck. Fin is working some magic and Josh tells him something is wrong.

He says he has to go and rushes away. He goes to tell Marcel that he’s feeling blood lust like he did when he first turned. Gia starts to get hunger cramps too as Fin works the magic. Klaus comes in and asks what it is. Marcel says it’s all of them and that there’s an all you can eat werewolf buffet next door. Klaus glares and thinks.

Klaus calls Fin to negotiate. Fin says he wants to exterminate vampires. Klaus makes a joke and Fin says if those vampires feed, they’ll be ravenous and unable to stop. He says carnage is inevitable. Fin says if Esther is unharmed, he’ll consider a reprieve from the spell. He tells Fin where to find her. Rebekah wants to send a spell via letter tiles to her brothers. Cassie says the medication keeps them from concentrating but Rebekah says to pull it together.

They take hands and chant and then one of the crazies busts in and says it’s time to eat. The vampires are struggling with hunger and the wolves are getting antsy. Marcel says they need to move it along. Kol says they can cast a spell that will give them 60 seconds to escape. Klaus says it will suppress all magical objects including their daylight rings. Marcel says they can’t wait til nightfall. Elijah stares out the window and thinks about his bloody past.

Cami comes up and asks if he’s okay. He stalks at her with blood thirst on his face and she begs him to calm down. He does. She’s terrified. Rebekah tries the windows and then says Kol. She gets a message back from the tiles asking who she is. She says she’s Rebekah Michaelson. She sees someone in the corner and then a couple of kindred are there and want to force her to medicate. She takes out one of them and runs out. She sees the ghostly witch apparition again downstairs and says she hopes she’s friendly.

Fin kicks in the wall of the tomb and finds Esther. He says he’s there to save her but then she touches him and gets blood lust. He backs away from her when he sees what she’s become and says – no. Kol and Davina make salt circles as chaos starts to break out between wolf and vampire. Someone draws blood on Aiden and Josh pulls two vamps off him but then is thirst wild himself. Klaus stops him and tells him to get away. Marcel tells Davina to start the spell.

Rebekah follows the ghost to a door. The ghost goes through but Rebekah can’t make it through in this body. She beats at the door then it opens of its own accord. She goes in and sees a dusty glass coffin in the room. She sees hands wrapped around a rosary. The door slams shut and there’s a kindred there to drag her away. Esther tells Fin she fought it as long as she could and is still his mother. She cries. She says she was just so hungry.

Fin tells her she’s a hypocrite and caved to temptation instead of standing on principles. He tells her he stood by her and fought for her because of her convictions. He says she gave him life but knows she would want him to finish what she started. He puts his hand on her face and she screams. Davina and Kol do the spell and they touch the barrier. Hayley tells the wolves to move and they rush out. The wolves rush out and Aiden gives Josh one last look before going.

Klaus tosses Kol back into the room with the thirsty vampires and asks Kol where Rebekah is. He says he betrayed Rebekah. Kol says it was just a prank and nothing worse then what they’ve done to them. Klaus is on the other side with Davina and Kol is surrounded by hungry vamps. Marcel tries to fight it. Davina begs Marcel who tells Kol to make himself scarce. Out at the camp, Jackson tells Hayley he should have known this thing would all go to hell with Klaus involved.

Hayley curses moonlight and daylight rings. He tells her there’s one more ring and pops an engagement ring box open. He tells her he loves her and was wrong to react the way he did when she told him about Elijah. He says he knows they’re doing this to fix what happened with the rings. He says he loved her before he met her and everything he learns makes him love her even more. He says they will turn this around for the pack and save their friends and that’s all he’s asking from her.

Jackson says he’s made a lot of mistakes but forcing her to love him won’t be one of them. He says he wants to marry her knowing everything that he knows. He says he hopes to hell she’ll marry him. She smiles and touches his face. He slides the ring onto her finger. She looks at it and smiles. Klaus calls Elijah and says he can find Rebekah and tells him to stay put and protect Hope. Elijah isn’t happy but agrees. He ends the call and apologizes to Cami.

He says his sister is missing, his family in jeopardy and he’s powerless which is a state of affairs he’s not accustomed to. He says he’s not dealing with it as well as one could hope. He asks for her forgiveness. Cami says if he wants to talk about it, it’s what she does. Klaus is at the cemetery and goes in to check on Esther. She’s gone. Fin puts her in the chalk circle with his dad. He says he remembers before she had her other kids and how they never got their happiness back after she birthed those monsters.

Kol runs upstairs and tries to barricade himself in a room. He looks at a portrait of Rebekah. The kindred guy lays Rebekah down in her bed and she looks pretty zonked out. He walks out and the letters on the floor rearrange themselves again. The name Freya appears and we see the glass coffin again. OMG. Isn’t Freya the insane sister of Esther who gets to have the first born???

THE END!
