#VoiceKnockouts continues tonight. Rihanna is back as the guest coach to all the teams and Pharrell still has a steal left to use. First up is a Team Adam knockout – his final one – and it’s James Dupre vs Shelby Brown. Adam chats up #RihannaOnTheVoice and Shelby is happy to see her. Shelby is doing Carrie Underwood’s Jesus Take the Wheel. The high school student and bowling alley singer is thrilled to work with Rihanna. James has chosen Sure Be Cool if You Did by Blake Shelton. That’s a brave choice.

They get their notes from Rihanna and then it’s a country faceoff and Blake has no steal left, so whoever loses is likely going straight home. Shelby hits some incredible high notes and impresses the judges. Adam is on his feet by the end but the other judges remain seated. Blake nods when he hears his song. Blake applauds and says good song choice and Pharrell stands for him. Adam says it’s odd seeing country artists not on his team and says it’s not right.

Blake says James has awesome taste in song selection and says it’s a laid back song for a knockout round and says his pitch was perfect. Blake says he would have liked it better if Shelby did one of his songs. Pharrell says James’ vibrato is flawless and he wonders how he breathes. Then he says Shelby is a real fighter. Gwen has positive feedback for most of them. Adam tells Shelby she gave him goosebumps then he says James is so professional so he doesn’t see as much emotion.

Adam says it’s a tough decision and he decides to go with Shelby. That’s surprising. James seems like a technically better singer but she had more of a showy performance. James thanks Adam for working with him and that’s it. Blake says it takes a lot of guts to sing a coach’s song and he says he already used his steal so he couldn’t scoop him up. Adam says with Shelby’s upper register, the sky is the limit and Adam goes to hug Shelby and her family.

Next up is a Team Pharrell knock out and it’s Siahna Im vs. Mark Hood. Mark is thrilled to meet with Rihanna and he’s crying to meet her. The pastor’s kid has chosen Stand by Me by Ben E King. Tiny teen Siahna Im has an old-school voice that thrilled all the judges. She’s chosen Back to Black by Amy Winehouse. Rihanna says her voice is bonkers and has a few notes for her. Both finish rehearsals then it’s knockout time.

Mark does a nice job putting a fresh twist on the classic Stand By Me – lots of runs – but was it a bit too much?

Next is Siahna doing the Amy Winehouse song which is a huge challenge for any singer. It’s crazy. Gwen tells Mark that she can’t keep her eyes off him and says he has a waterfall run that amazed her. She tells Siahna that she’s adorable and says her voice is so powerful and says both performances were incredible. Adam says Mark was entertaining on all levels then says Siahna is a beast when she sings. Adam says you don’t expect her and she’s a one off in the world.

Blake says Mark can’t sit still when he performs and then says Siahna performs in such a mature way. Pharrell tells Mark that he did well with showmanship and says he fought hard to stay. Pharrell says Siahna charmed the room so it’s a tough knockout. Pharrell decides to go with his gut and says he’s keeping Mark. Unfortunately, no other coaches except him have a steal so that sends Siahna home. She thanks Pharrell and says she’s grateful.

Pharrell says Mark is a storyteller when he sings and he wants to keep fostering that. Next is a Team Gwen pairing of Jeffery Austin and Kota Wade. Gwen paired them since they are both folky. Jeffery chose Turning Tables by Adele – that’s a tall order. Kota selected Barracuda by Ann and Nancy Wilson which is also a huge challenge. Jeffery absolutely nails Adele’s ballad and it’s so cool since he crossed to do a woman’s song with a different trust. Is falsetto is amazing.

Adam tells Jeffery that his voice is identifiable and original. He says he has a lot of potential. He says Kota sang the hardest vocal ever and by the end she had it. He says he thinks he would go with Jeffery. Blake says it impresses him when someone shows what they’re made of and that’s what Jeffery did and says it was brilliant. He tells Kota she took a big risk and says the song is on 10 the whole time so it doesn’t have a dynamic and tells Gwen he’s doesn’t know.

Pharrell says Jeffery could have pushed it harder but the performance was great. He says Kota took a huge risk even though she lost control in a couple of places. Gwen says she was shocked when Kota chose this song and says her personality is so clear. Gwen says what the other guys said was what she’s been working on with him and it’s a big deal. She says his tone is magic. Gwen chooses Jeffery.

Team Blake is up next with a knockout of Emily Ann Roberts vs Nadjah Nicole. He says their voices are similar so that’s why he paired them. Emily Ann is a high schooler who chose Blake over Adam in the blinds. Emily Ann chose the Dixie Chicks’ Cowboy Take Me Away. (OMG love this song!!) Rihanna says she’s young but can do amazing things. Nadjah chose Alicia Keys’ A Woman’s Worth. Nadjah shocked Adam when she chose Blake in the blinds and is his only R&B artist.

Rihanna says Alicia Keys is a hard one but says Nadjah turned it out. Blake says Nadjah is a shy performer and he has to get her over the hump. It’s knockout time and Emily Ann has mastered the notes she was struggling with an does a nice job with the Dixie Chicks tune and Nadjah absolutely kills the Alicia Keys number. Pharrell tells Emily Ann she was in the comfort zone but was fighting for it. Pharrell says he loved the note she added to the song and says they’re both good.

Gwen tells Nadjah she’s mesmerizing to watch and really feels it. Gwen says Emily Ann has a lot of intuition and confidence. Adam says Emily Ann has made a lot of progress and says Nadjah has things he hasn’t heard yet. Blake says Rihanna thought Nadjah’s song wouldn’t work then was blown away when it did. Blake says Emily Ann fits into sort of a mountain sound genre but also mainstream and knows what will be around for a while and says she has staying power. Blake decides to go with Emily Ann.

We also get just a quick look at the knockout between Zack Seabaugh and Chris Crump. Blake ended up choosing Zack Seabaugh. Next is a knockout between Team Pharrell’s Evan McKeel and Tim Atlas, two indie artists. Evan is the guy who volunteers with dementia patients. He is singing Dare You to Move by Switchfoot. Rihanna says his voice has amazing grit and advises him to go without the guitar. Tim Atlas is the one Pharrell stole from Team Gwen when he lost to Ellie Lawrence.

Tim is singing Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn. They give him some advice. Evan is up first with the Switchfoot song. His voice is spot on but his stage presence is not as large as it should be.

Tim’s voice is so different from Natalie’s as he does Torn. His stage presence is great but he doesn’t have the range that Evan does. Gwen tells Tim the first half was magic but the second half had too much ad libbing. She tells Evan she loves his passion and how he was vulnerable and held nothing back. Blake says Evan sang perfectly and is a great vocalist. He says Tim is the most unique of the two but he had so many herbs and spice in the vocals it gets weird but says Pharrell is the king of weird.

Adam calls Blake the king of stupid and Blake says that was pretty funny. Pharrell says Evan took their notes and his intuition for the song was great. He says Tim has a different voice and it can be very special but can also hurt you if you don’t use it right. He says Tim had an angry energy in the chorus and it was a good creative choice. Pharrell decides to go with Evan. Next is a Team Gwen knockout of Regina Love vs. Riley Biederer.

Regina is up first and the former Team Adam team member that was stolen by Gwen has chosen Gladys Knight’s Midnight Train to Georgia. Rihanna is floored by her. Riley Biederer has chosen XO by Beyonce. She says she knows it’s risky. Rihanna got chills and says she was impressed. Riley does a lot of vocal gymnastics for her number and her upper register just kills. Regina is up next and slays with the Gladys Knight song and has the judges on their feet.

Adam tells Regina he misses her even more and says she crushed it then says Riley also killed it. He says They both impressed him tremendously. Blake tells Regina she blew the roof off but Riley showed a lot of diversity. Blake says Regina parted his hair. Pharrell says Regina had people on their feet and gave goosebumps. He says it was crazy like at church. Adam says she killed it because Pharrell looks confused. Then he says Riley is great too and says it’s tough for Gwen and says neither should go home.

Gwen says Rihanna was blown away by Riley and she is too and says she has a lot of potential. She says she loves Regina’s determination and she brought her to tears. She says they both should be on the show. Gwen decides to keep Regina. That makes Riley available to steal. Gwen says Riley could win this whole thing but she couldn’t ignore what Regina did. Pharrell slaps his button and uses his last steal to take Riley to his team. Pharrell says he’s glad to have her back on his team.
