Vincent Margera Dead: Don Vito – “Viva La Bam” “Jackass” Star Dies at 59 – Bam Margera Best Friend and Uncle

Vincent Margera is dead. Don Vito, reality television star Bam Margera’s uncle, has died. The funnyman passed away at the age of 59 on Sunday, November 15 at 6:45 a.m – Vincent Margera had been struggling with kidney and liver failure for several years. Amy Margera, Bam’s mother and Vincent’s sister-in-law, made the announcement of Margera’s passing.

The actor fell into a coma in October 2015. Despite awaking from the coma approximately four days ago, Don Vito’s organs continued to fail. Reality television and movie star Bam Margera called Vincent Margera not only his uncle but considered the larger-than-life funny man his best friend.

Margera rose to fame as the lovable and goofy guy who was often the target of Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera’s pranks – and Vincent always fell for them. Margera made appearances on MTV’s “Viva La Bam” many times during the show’s run from 2003 to 2006.

In addition, Don Vito made cameos in the “Jackass” movies as well as the original Jackass television series. Vincent’s other movie credits include appearances in “Haggard: The Movie” and its sequel “Minghangs,” both of which starred “Viva La Bam” cast members.

This is yet another devastating blow to cast mates Bam, Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O, who lost co-star and friend Ryan Dunn in a tragic car accident in 2011.Dunn was involved in a tragic car accident after a night of hard partying and heavy drinking at a bar in Pennsylvania. Just last month co-stars Knoxville, Steve-O and Bam paid tribute to Ryan Dunn on what would have been his 38th birthday.

The comedian earned his nickname because of is gibberish-like, difficult to understand speech – much like the character Don Vito Corleone from “The Godfather” movie trilogy. The nickname also paid tribute to Margera’s Italian heritage.

Vincent Margera is survived by his younger brother Phil Margera and his sister-in-law Amy Margera in addition to his nephew Bam. Our condolences go out to the Margera family during this difficult time.
