Mr. Robot Recap

Once Elliot left his perfectly constructed loop, everything began to fall apart for him and he could no longer hide from certain truths. Elliot ended up losing his sense of control over his life and eventually he did the one thing he always swore he wouldn’t do. He made a deal with Mr. Robot.

Mr. Robot was technically a split personality of Elliot’s however Eliot was finally willing to acknowledge how much his disorder had protected him and so he had asked for a truce. He was willing to work with Mr. Robot and respect the protector’s place in his life. But what he wanted in return was the truth.

Elliot wanted to know what happened to Tyrell Wellick. So Mr. Robot told him what happened that night and the truth destroyed what little hope Elliot had left. Mr. Robot said that night on 5/9 that he was writing up the code and was following through when suddenly Tyrell kept talking.

Tyrell mentioned how he had killed a woman and that they were both going to be gods. However, Mr. Robot told Elliot that he couldn’t allow Tyrell to blow their cover by actually believing in any of that crap and so he explained that he had to kill Tyrell.

Mr. Robot said he had gone to the popcorn machine where Darlene had hidden the gun and had used on Tyrell to keep him from putting them all at risk. Yet, Elliot corrected him on that part. He said that it was he that killed Tyrell and so he was finally breaking down the walls that separated him from Mr. Robot.

So it seems his other personality wasn’t the only thing he was willing to acknowledge. Elliot was now taking responsibility for everything that happened. Which included the few things he hadn’t been aware of because of his sickness.

So in a sense it was a good thing that he had been broken out of his routine though unfortunately there were also some consequences that went along with it. Elliot had found himself as a pawn and Ray had threatened him into fixing his “website”.

The same website that ran his entire illegal business. But Elliot believed and even told Mr. Robot that if they did this for Ray then they would be safe. And he hadn’t been wrong. Elliot had sent the authorities everything they needed on Ray so both he and Ray knew that it was just a matter of time before the police showed up.

Though, strangely Ray didn’t appear to mind the betrayal. He had told Elliot that he knew what was going to happen the second he let Elliot back onto his computer. So he had some idea at least that Elliot would use the opportunity to send an anonymous tip yet he hadn’t made a run for it.

Instead Ray had played one final game of chess with Elliot as some odd way of saying goodbye and had then warned Elliot he should go before the feds arrive.

The feds however hadn’t been too concerned with Elliot. Elliot was clearly still recovering from his wounds and so he wasn’t considered to be a threat. Yet, Elliot’s sister on the other hand and her grand plan had blown up in their faces. Darlene had thought that it would be simply to hack the FBI that she had knowingly suckered Angela into helping out and, out of all of them, it was Angela that ended up getting caught.

Angela had been seen and followed by Dom who naturally wanted to know why Angela was on the restricted floor. So that put Angela in the hot seat.

Angela hadn’t been caught technically in the act so Dom knew that she wouldn’t be able to pin anything on her. However, Dom had her suspicions and the FBI database thoroughly searched. So she did find out about the hack and had warned her fellow agents to keep an eye out on Angela Moss as well as anyone that Angela might be connected to yet Darlene had later sworn to Angela that she wouldn’t throw her under the bus if that time ever came.

Which meant Darlene was officially done with Angela even if Angela wasn’t technically done with her.

Before Angela allowed herself to be dismissed, she told Darlene that she wasn’t as stupid as they all thought. She said that she remembered that cheesy movie that Darlene and Elliot would make her watch and that thing with the masks didn’t hit her until recently.

So Angela in her own way had told Darlene that she knew for a fact they were part of society. Though she didn’t admittedly lash out and she sure didn’t go to see Elliot to see if he would answer her questions. Or allow him to explain why he had been part of 5/9.

Angela actually went back to work and tried to finish up the other deal she had made. Angela got several people that had been aligned with her father on the lawsuit against Evil Corp to drop their contingency plan. So ended up forcing her father into agreeing to a payout that he believed was blood money.

But by doing so she had earned herself some leeway at Evil Corp and was able to negotiate a management position. And so there really wasn’t a need to worry about Angela, she was proving that she could take care of herself.

Yet, Elliot on the other hand was tired of being out in the cold. He called for Mr. Robot and told him that he wanted to finish what they started. Elliot said that he wanted to take down Evil Corp and that he wanted to finish them off for good which meant something a little bigger than 5/9. So where did this new resolve come from?

It came from the fact that Elliot was ready to fight his own battles rather than let Mr. Robot keep fighting them for him.

Elliot though had pissed off several people when he had taken down Ray’s organization. So a group of men had dragged him off into a corner and were planning on raping him out of revenge when his friend showed up. Elliot’s friend Leon had appeared out of nowhere and had taken out the group of men with no trouble at all. However, before he left, Leon gave Elliot a message.

He told Elliot that he should tell the Whiterose that he had done him a solid and he also mentioned that Elliot was going to be getting a letter soon.

And while that was completely out of the blue, Elliot as in the real Elliot eventually became aware of where he actually was and admitted to Krista that he did know he was in prison. So Elliot hadn’t been staying at his mother’s house and Leon hadn’t saved him on the street. Leon had instead saved him in prison. Though it makes you wonder what honestly happened with Ray and if anyone knew that Elliot had killed Tyrell.

Tyrell’s widow Joanna didn’t seem like she knew the truth yet he knows what she’s aware of!
