Adele’s 2016 Grammy Awards Performance Botched On Live Television – Show A Total Trainwreck?

Adele’s return to the Grammy stage on Monday February 15 was the most talked about and anticipated performance of the night – so leave it to the production crew to totally botch it. Adele Adkins was easily the frontrunner of the evening, and her performance was why millions of people at home were tuning in.

Ironically, it was also the most botched performance of the night – and there was a lot of botching going on.

So, what exactly happened? Adele nailed her first song, like the pro that she is. However, in the midst of her second song, “All I Ask” – her audio went out, and for those watching at home, there was literally no sound for a moment and you could only see Adele’s lips moving. Of course, when the sound did finally come back after what seemed like the longest 8 seconds in Grammy history – Adele was “off” and never really caught back up to the music.

In Adele’s defense – she had ear pieces in during her performance. That means that when her audio went out, there was no music in her earpieces, and she also couldn’t hear the piano right next to her because of the ear pieces that weren’t even working. So, basically the “Hello” singer juts had to freestyle and hope that when the music came back on, she wasn’t too far off.

As always Adele handled the performance like a pro – and as graceful as possible. A lot can be said for how quickly she rallied. But, no one has anything nice to say about the tech guys and sound crew – seriously, how do you screw up the absolute biggest performance of the night?
