Amal Alamuddin, George Clooney Move To New York City: Fame-Hungry Lawyer Distances Husband George From Hollywood?

Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney are ditching the Hollywood lights for a lifestyle in the Big Apple. There are several new reports that indicate Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney – who just celebrated their second wedding anniversary in September – have splashed on a new Manhattan condo with the best skyline views that the city can offer.

According to Page Six, the Clooneys are spending a whopping $65 million dollars on their new abode, which comes complete with 6,760 square feet of penthouse luxury along with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in the 63-story building. Of course, critics can’t help but wonder if Amal is doing this not only to make it easier for her to commute to Columbia Law School, but to also send a clear message to her husband George Clooney: she doesn’t want to be anywhere near L.A.

Not only has Amal had a hard time fitting in with George’s Hollywood lifestyles and friends, but living in Los Angeles does absolutely nothing for her career as a human rights lawyer. Amal Alamuddin married George Clooney because she wants to become a force to be reckoned with in the international courtroom. Being married to one of the biggest movie stars in the world has helped her get noticed and give her the attention that she so desperately craves. No one can doubt that Amal’s fame-hungry ways is the reason why she’s pushed her own agendas in the spotlight, giving George no choice but to follow her along and give in to her demands if he expects their marriage to work.

For the longest time, it was clear as day that Amal never liked any of George’s Hollywood pals, including his best friend, Cindy Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber. And now with all of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce drama, there’s a strong possibility that Amal thinks this is the best time to finally distance both George and herself from the tabloid-ridden and nasty media gossip that surrounds Hollywood. Of course, the only question now is if George Clooney is willing to live in his wife’s shadow.
