“Big Brother 18” spoilers are rare, as CBS has worked hard to keep a lid on any casting leaks. The theme for the house is international travel and seems to want to embrace other cultures on the show. Could this be a clever way to address the recent racist houseguests over the past few seasons?
If you remember, before BB15, racism typically wasn’t a huge issue on the show. The houseguests of BB15 brought awareness to a huge problem in America – racism. They taught us that even though we try to hide it, racism is alive and thriving in some parts of the country.
At first, most people were horrified by the comments made on the show. How could a beautiful woman in 2014 believe that she is better strictly based on her race?
The cast of BB15 did what no other house guests have done before: they challenged themselves to grow and learn from their mistakes. And, let’s face it, they came through with flying colors. Each one learned to accept those different than they were, and in the end, they embraced their differences.
Too bad it was a little too late, as now Big Brother announces before each show that the values of the HGs do not reflect those of the network.
Many feel the theme of this year will try to embrace the differences across different cultures. There are so many cultures to consider. Big Brother is known for trying to tackle big issues on the show in ways that appeal to most people.
It’s only hours away from the big BB18 cast reveal, and we anxiously await for the new faces that we’ll spend 100 days with – watching their every move.
