#Bones and Booth check out Christine’s first report card. She gets an E+ in math and he thinks it’s one up from an F. She got perfect grades across the board and he’s thrilled. They get a page about a body in the Potomac.

The victim is a large white male but his jaw is missing. Cam compliments Angela’s diamond bracelet – it’s a sorry gift from Hodgins. Oliver is icked out about their lovey dovey. The guy is a human popsicle and Hodgins has an idea how to melt him.

Aubrey and Booth talk and then Karen so no way is it a suicide and says suicide in icey water is rare in cold water. Karen says there’s only two bridges for jumpers and it’s not close. She says it’s a body dump and Booth asks her to go but she wants to talk to Aubrey.

She asks him out for coffee and he says no then she asks to see him tonight. Booth whispers – she’s asking you out for a date. Aubrey freaks, twitches and then stutters. Hodgins has a blast furnace for the body thaw. He calls it Smaug.

Oliver says they can do this in about 15 seconds. He’s got a basin to catch the particulates and Bones says go for it. They light it up and Oliver says applied science is beautiful. The ice is gone and they have a body to work with. Bones says that’s great work.

Hodgins looks a little charred and so does Oliver. Bones calls him king of the lab. Cam finds no river water in the lungs so it’s a dump. Cam asks Angela if things are better at home. She says yeah but the diamonds aren’t her. She says it’s not the same, though.

Angela admits there’s no sex. Cam says give it time. They find a tattoo of a woman’s face and Angela wants to ID the woman’s face to ID the guy. Aubrey said yes and Booth teases him. Aubrey says she’s crazy and Aubrey says he’s happy with Jessica.

Aubrey goes to tell Karen no while Booth goes to talk to the woman – Lissa. She says the guy is Frankie, her husband. She says he goes out of town all the time and says he’s a fixer for celebs and powerful people. She says Frankie didn’t tell her about his business.

Lissa says talk to Kerry, his assistant. Lissa says make whoever did this pay for hurting Frankie. Oliver shows Bones some fractures that look like blunt force trauma. Oliver mentions Christine’s grades and says he got the same grades but says school was harder then.

He proceeds to critique Christina’s artwork and says it’s more like a G level. Bones kicks him out of her office. He refers to himself as exemplary again then leaves. In the car, Aubrey tells Karen that he’s seeing someone and she says okay.

Aubrey says his dad used Frankie’s services back in the day. His dad ran a Ponzi scheme. She asks if he has profound daddy issues. He says his dad didn’t talk business with him but did let him tag along. She says he’s a pleaser and offers to counsel him.

Kerry says she doesn’t know who would have messed with Frank. They ask why she didn’t report him missing for a week and she says she was out of town last week. Aubrey wants Frank’s files and computer and she says go ahead.

Aubrey checks the files and says these are not the real ones. He says he poked around in Frank’s files and knows that’s a two-way mirror and opens a door and goes into the bathroom and reaches under it and presses a button. A secret door opens to the real file room.

Hodgins tells Bones he checked the trace and found white ash. Oliver shows remodeling from a break a year ago. Hodgins mentions the photo of Oliver’s niece’s art work and he gestures shush. Bones is annoyed.

Hodgins says Oliver thinks that the kid changed a minus to a plus. He agrees then says he was just doing a favor for a friend. Oliver says he came back to Bones to apologize then looked more closely at the report card and thought Bones would want to know.

Karen, Booth and Aubrey are going through Frankie’s files and find tons of dirt. Karen finds Aubrey’s dad’s file and hands it to him. Aubrey says no and says the man has been out of the US for 18 years and doesn’t want to read it.

Booth tells them about the shattered left leg from last year. Karen won’t let go of the Aubrey dad issue. Booth says move on. Booth pulls out a file on mobster Jimmy Nasari – the guy is known for leg breaking and the face was also damaged with wood.

Nasari had to pay his ex-wife $12 million last week thanks to Frankie. Bones tells Oliver about the possible changed grade on Christine’s report card. Booth asks what subject and she says art but her daughter would not do that.

Nasari denies knowing Frank then says he waged a war against him after he broke his leg. He says he got half his clubs shut down, his kid expelled, and told his mother horrible things about him. Booth says he was scared of Frank but Nasari denies it.

Hodgins found duck feces on Frank’s shoe. He says there are three locations where he could have gotten it on his shoe. Hodgins compliments Angela and she says Frank encrypted his files. Cam walks out. Hodgins says he has something for her.

He says the bracelet looked so good that he got her a necklace to go with it. Angela says wow but it’s too much. He says please take it because he was terrible to her. She refuses it but he insists. She puts it on and he says she looks amazing.

Aubrey confirms Nasari’s alibi and Karen says she found something. She says she read his dad’s file and he says unless it has to do with the case, he doesn’t care. Karen found a client near the duck poo. Abraham Froome is the client and he hired Frank to retrieve a sex tape.

She shows him a still pic from it and Karen says grandpa wanted his nuk-nuk. The guy is in a diaper with a pacifier in his mouth with two hot young girls with him. Aubrey now regrets the donut he’s eating when he sees that.

They bring Froome in and Karen and Aubrey meet with the old perv. He says he was being blackmailed for $2 million. He says Frank told him not to pay but then the blackmailer beat him up and Frank told him to pay because the guy was insane.

Frank had the cash on him when he died. Angela can’t get a lead on the blackmailers IP address. Cam talks about the diaper fetish. Angela says she looked at the mirror in the background and they show part of the blackmailer.

They see a name tag on the person in the closet and they’re wearing a hotel jacket. The blackmailer must work there. Oliver tells Bones he found bruising on the hand indicating a fight. Oliver prods her about the report card again.

Oliver then points out a chip to a teeth and she spots a discoloration. Bones tells him to let Hodgins test the ink on the report card and Oliver challenges her to a bet. She tells Booth about it later. Valon is a bellhop who has been out of work the past week.

They go to Valon’s apartment and knock. They tell him FBI open up. He refuses to open the door. Booth threatens to break it down then he opens it. He’s purple from head to toe. Looks like there were dye packs in the money.

They bring in Valon and he says Froome is a bad man and never tips. He says he made the video and doesn’t know who Frank is. They show him the video of Frank. He says he killed no one. He says he came home and Frank was at his house.

He says he took the video and robbed him of his cell phone and laptop. He says he made him get in the tub with purple dye or he’ll shoot him. Valon says he’s the victim in this. Bones goes to see Hodgins and he says sorry, he didn’t know the report card was Christine’s.

He says he won’t do the test but Bones insists. She asks about the victim’s teeth and he says it was gastric acid – he vomited near time of death and they found ketamine. He says the killer may have tried to roofie the victim and she runs out.

Bones tells Angela her theory. The sink in Frank’s office is made of white ash. Bones thinks his face was smashed into the sink when he vomited. They go back to the office to look for blood evidence. Cam says it happened there.

Aubrey asks Kerry who else had access and she says Frank always left the door unlocked for clients. Bones tells Oliver she thinks the wager is distracting him. He shows her something else he noticed – some microfractures from a fist striking the skull.

Bones thinks Frank roughed himself up. Angela tracks Valon’s devices and they all went dark at the same time. Then the next day, Froome took the blackmail money out of the bank. Bones thinks that’s why he beat himself up – so Froome would give him the blackmail money.

Aubrey shows Booth Kerry’s bank statement and shows him that she got a safety deposit box. They find the cash. Kerry asks why they got into her deposit box and says they had no probable cause. They got it through the Patriot Act based on them helping a terrorist.

She says Frank asked her to open the box and hide the money. She was having an affair with Frank and they were planning to run off together. She says she doesn’t know if his wife Lissa knew. Kerry asks for a lawyer when they tell her they’re holding her.

Hodgins comes in with test results. Hodgins says the two inks are different on the plus. He then says they found gold from cheap jewelry on the back of his head. Aubrey comes in and tells Booth that rich people don’t wear cheap jewelry.

Booth goes to talk to Kerry and her lawyer. Kerry says she loved Frank. Booth says she killed him and took the money. She says she was in Atlanta. Booth says her clients would lie and give her an alibi. Kerry says he’s bluffing and he says he doesn’t need her confession.

He places her under arrest and says he has means, method and motive. Angela, Hodgins, Cam and Aubrey are all out together at a bar. They toast to getting him out and about. Cam is in Angela’s jewelry and she says she blackmailed him into going out three times to earn the jewelry back.

Karen shows up and Cam greets her. She hasn’t met her before. Karen asks Aubrey to step over and talk to her in private. She says she has another date but he’s dumb as a box of hair. She says she’s got a transfer to Kansas City on Monday.

Karen says look at this file. He says it’s in the past but she says it’s not the past and says his dad is in DC and Frank was investigating him for his dad. He opens the file and looks at it. There are photos of him going about his business.

Bones tells Booth she lost her best with Oliver. Booth laughs and she says she had to record a voice mail for his phone. Bones says they have to talk to Christine about cheating. Then Booth tells her to look at the signature on the back.

He says he spoke to the teacher and the woman ran out of ink halfway through the report cord. Bones is thrilled. Bones calls Oliver to make him change his voice mail and hears her own voice reading the ridiculous message from the bet.

THE END!
