On this week’s episode of Dance Moms Kira talks about having to go home because one of Kelani’s friends committed suicide. Abby tells the minis “There is no sense in you coming to pyramid since you did not compete last week. Instead, you are going to work with Chris again on a routine.” Chris tells them “This week I want you to become little women.”

Abby then turns to the juniors. She tells them “There is good news and bad news. The good news is you won  your group dance. The bad news is we had three solo shots and none of you won so don’t count on any more solos.” Next, up Abby does the pyramid. After the pyramid is unveiled Abby announces that there will be two duets. The first one goes to Brynn and Nia. It is entitled “War and Peace.” The girls are super excited about this. The next duet is assigned to Jojo and Kendall. Their duet is a contemporary ballet routine. Jessalynn is not happy. She says “We never do ballet.” Abby then announces that the group routine will be based on the news of Kira and Kelani’s friend’s suicide and will be called “Suicide Hotline.” Abby says “I want to do a routine that will make a difference in someone’s life.” Kira is a little upset and she asks Abby “Are you in a place to do a routine of this magnitude?” Abby tells her “I want to bring in someone from the suicide hotline to help out.”

The moms are sitting around talking about the routine. Jill says “I think this is a good idea. I think we are being naive if we don’t talk about this with our kids and let them know that help is out there.” Jessalynn agrees and says “It is good that Abby seems so invested in this routine and I think it will really make a difference to these kids to know that help is out there.”

Abby is working with the girls to perfect the routine. She says “The point of this routine is to let teenagers know that help is out there. If this  dance makes a difference and gets one kid to pick up the phone and call the suicide hotline then I am happy. Let’s save lives.”

Abby brings in Daniel to help Jojo and Kendall with their ballet duo. Jill and Jessalynn are not happy. Kendall is worried about Jojo’s attitude toward the routine. Jessalynn is worried about how Jojo is going to look on stage because she does not have ballet training. She says “This is bad. This is really bad. If Jojo’s only opportunity to win is on technique then she is screwed.”  After practice, Jojo runs to Jessalyn and cries to her. She tells her mother “I don’t want to do the duo. I am not good at ballet.” Jessalynn tells her “If you don’t want to do it then you don’t have to do it. We’re not doing it.” Kendall is frustrated. She says “I have the worst luck with duets.”

Meanwhile, Abby moves on to work with the minis. She is not happy with their progress in their group number. She says “I still see five individual dancers on the floor instead of one whole group. The name of the number is unstoppable, but this is simply unacceptable.”

Jojo decides not to come to practice the next day.     When Jill tries to call her the call goes straight to voicemail. Abby is very upset. She turns and says “You don’t quit when things get tough. Parents, don’t you agree?” Jill speaks up and says “I don’t agree with her, but I do understand because Jess is trying to build Jojo’s brand and she feels like this is detrimental to her brand.” Abby decides to insert Kelani into Jojo’s place in the duet with Kendall.

The moms are talking about Jessalynn and Jojo’s defection from the group. One of the mom’s says “If that were you. me or even Ashlee Jess would have been all over me. I think Jess is a bully which is ironic because Jojo’s platform is anti-bullying.” Jill is quick to speak up and says “I don’t think Jess is a bully.” The others just look at her in astonishment. Kira says “When she told me that my kid wasn’t marketable I wanted to punch her in the face.”  Ashlee says “Jess doesn’t want her daughter to be a great dancer. She wants to build a brand. She wants her to have her own reality TV show and be like the Kardashians.” Kira laughs and says “Newsflash she has a long way to go before she is in that league.”

The minis are still working on their group routine. While they are rehearsing the elite moms come walking in. Jackie asks them “Are you guys still minus one mom?” Jill says “She could still show up.”  Abby is rehearsing with the elites and they are struggling with the Suicide Hotline routine. Abby has invited two volunteers from the Teen Line hotline to talk to the teens and the moms about the actuality of suicide.  The girls are shocked to hear Ginger’s story of her struggles with depression and thoughts of suicide. The moms and girls ask questions and they are very moved by the information that they receive.

On the day of the competition both the elites and the minis are getting ready to compete. The elite moms are still upset that Jess and Jojo split on the team. Abby says “How many times did she say do your job and fuss and fume at me? Now her kid can’t handle a little ballet?”  Kelani and Kendall have a short little run through of their routine. Abby gives them some slight corrections.

Nia and Brynn are frustrated. Ashlee says “This is not fair. Learning the lifts on a trampoline  when they are brand new is hard.” Abby tells her “Life’s not fair and we’re out of time.” Everyone heads out to the stage. First up to perform are Kelani and Kendall. Their dance is very impressive and Abby is happy. Next up are Nia and Brynn.  Abby looks a bit concerned throughout the dance, but the girls pull it off beautifully. Abby tells them “It was so nice to see you two do such a beautiful dance. You pulled it off and the lifts were beautiful.”

Meanwhile the Minis are backstage preparing for their group dance. The moms call Chris to encourage them. He tells them “I want you to be warriors on stage the way you were warriors in my rehearsal studio.” Back in the elite dressing room the girls are preparing for their group number. Kelani tells them “A girl came up to me and told me that I inspire her.” Abby tells the minis “Your group number is invincible, but are you?” She also goes and talks to the elites and tells them “Your routine is Suicide Hotline. You either make this routine or break this routine.” Kelani says “I hope we can touch at least one kid and let them know that there is someone out there who is listening because the world can’t lose another dancer.”

Sari says “This is the girls first week back after being benched and they have to win to prove to Abby that they should be dancing every week.” Abby does not seem to be impressed with the minis routine at all. Up next are the Elites to perform their Suicide Hotline routine. Abby and the moms are very impressed by the girls routine.

It is time for the winners to be announced now.  War and Peace takes third place. Push And Pull takes first place in the teen Duet competition. In the Mini competition, Invincible took first place, but Abby is still not happy. She says “I didn’t want five solo dancers and that’s what I got.”  In the Teen Group category, Suicide Hotline took first place which made everyone happy.

Backstage Abby tells the minis “This week was supposed to be your big comeback week where you were supposed to blow everyone away and you didn’t.” Ashlee  says “Well this was one of our best group dances ever. Was it right up there with your other iconic dances?” Abby nods. Ashlee says “Jojo is sitting by the pool.” Abby says “This is a lesson girls. Quitters never win.”..

THE END!
